"Several drawbacks with this phone"
Pros: Compact, light, nice screen, very graphical, good video
Cons: Constantly taking pictures in my pocket, weak vibrate, poor volume
Summary: This is a good phone in many respects but has a few major flaws considerable enough for me to suggest users not to buy this phone.
First the bad...
Side Buttons: As other users have noted, the side buttons are a constant nuisance. I've had this phone three weeks and I deleted over 25 pictures of my pocket and photos taken during phone calls. Somehow this doesn't bother all users but I would say this is a considerable problem.
Volume: The loudest volume setting is not loud enough in noisy ambiant conditions. The speaker is also weak compared to other phones I've used.
Weak vibrate: I usually keep my phone on silent and depend on the vibrating in my pocket to know when it rings. I've missed several calls because I never noticed the phone was ringing. This is a major drawback.
Battery: The battery does not seem to live up it's claims. I seem to be the only one complaining about this so maybe I just got a bum battery.
And now the good...
The Z520 is a slim and light phone. Perfect for pocket carriers such as myself, if you don't mind the occasional picture of said pocket. The interface is intuitive and attractive and has plenty of memory for what I use it for. The camera is decent and the video feature is nice.
If the negatives I mentioned would not bother you, this would be a great phone. However, don't underestimate these problems. For me they are constant annoyances.
