"Best phone currently offered by AT&T."
Pros: Call Quality and Battery Life (the only things that really matter!)
Cons: Made of plastic, rather than metal; could be thinner.
Summary: I use my cell phone as my primary phone (don't have a landline), so the most important factors to me are call quality and battery life (really, what else matters?). This phone excels at both, and looks pretty cool as well. [Note to CNet: instead of just an overall rating, you should rate various characteristics of each phone you review so that we can sort through models based on call quality, battery life, camera quality, etc.]
I'd wanted to upgrade for a while from a Razr V3 (unlocked) which I generally liked, except that it had to be recharged every night (also, being unlocked, the AT&T media features and web browsing never worked properly). I also looked at the Razr2 (great phone, but AT&T only offers it in an awful purple color) and the LG Shine CU720. I liked the Shine and was waiting for the Titanium Black model to come out, but gave up after they kept pushing back the release date. Instead I got this phone in gray. I would have preferred the black version, but AT&T doesn't offer it...just the gray (which looks almost as good), and ridiculous looking pink and purple models. IMHO, electronics should be either silver or black...enough with all these cheesy bright colors, AT&T!
I upgraded through AT&T's website, which offered better deals than their stores (which are usually out of the phone I want, and/or their salespeople are useless). After rebate, it cost $50.
Anyway, calls sound great, and I'm only recharging it once a week. The 9 hours of talk time blows away the Shine's 3 hours. The keypad seems great for texting. The only downside for me is that the phone is all plastic, which always seems cheap to me. My Razr and the Shine were both metal, and it's amazing how much that adds to the feeling of quality and durability. I'm also still getting used to the thickness after using a Razr for a few years. I always carry my phone in my pocket (belt clips are this generation's version of the pocket protector!) and luckily the Z750a isn't too bulky.
In the past I've rarely used my previous phones' camera or music capabilities (preferring to use my digital camera and mp3 player instead). The camera in this phone seems ok, but I probably won't ever use it much. However, I am surprised by how much I appreciate the phone's FM radio, and also the XM Radio mobile service (I've had XM in my car and home for years and love their service). The cellular video and web browsing work pretty well too, although I'll most likely only use those features occasionally.
As for other features, I'm sure there are video games of some sort on it, but anyone over the age of 12 doesn't care about that stuff...and if you're under 12, your parents shouldn't let you have a cell phone anyway!

...about 12 year olds and video games. I'm in my late teens and my 54 year old father actually plays more games on his cellphone than I do. One day he downloaded about 5 games and played them consecutively with the sound cranked up, only to hear the beeps and simple tunes, which filled him with pure excitement. Sounds kind of sad, ahe? Haha...
