"Listings are minimal.search is difficult set of loops" on by norief

Pros: The color maps and voice prompter in driving directions are good. It somehow saved my contacts from my old phone date card in the contact function.

Cons: Does not list any union 76 gas stations at all. List Shell stations by owner names I am not familiar with. Have to punch 5 different things to find gas. Sprint was no help. Telnav was no help. BRAND NEW PHONE! Very unhappy

Summary: I could not find union 76 stations listed. I needed to call a particular station in Marysville WA. I then check and the only Shell stations listed near my current location were across the border in Canada 15 miles away. I called Sprint technical support who told Telnav had not updated Sprints software. To find out when this would be updated I needed to call Telnav. I called Telnav who nicely offered to give me the addresses of the gas stations but I explained I needed to be able to access these gas stations when I am traveling up and down the Interstate5 when I work out of town. They concluded the software was degraded on my brand new phone and the tried to send me download via e-mail (which never showed up on the phone) but I would probably have to take my phone in to a service center and get spring navigation uninstalled and reinstalled. Just what I want to do- Taking me back to the nightmare I had trying to get help from sprint on Activsync on the last phone I had.

"Needs Total Improvement" on by CustomerSYD

Pros: The pro is the convenience of having a nav system on your cell phone.

Cons: Slow. Gives the worse routes. Stops during navigation. Reloads itself several times during navigation. Does not talk ahead and tell you what's about to occur as fast.

Summary: This is not a good navigation system. It is very slow and does not give the best routes for travel. It hardly ever finds alternative routes, until you force a different route by traveling in a different direction yourself. Sometimes it even shuts down in the middle of the route. It reload itself several times by saying, "Getting route." Even if you put it in your lap the wrong way, it may give you an off route or off track message. So, its way too sensitive and sometimes doesn't know where you are. I think they totally need to redo this one. I had an awesome system with a leading carrier, but of course won't be switching back just because of this one malfunction, but it is a problem that needs to be resolved.

"I almost got raped" on by Cid3113

Pros: The interface is nice, it's not hard to look at

    Cons: potential rape

Summary: Last time I used Sprint Navigation I was looking for a Target in my college town. The system instructed me to walk down the nearest main road and then cross a street with no intersection. From their the GPS had me walking up a highway for several hundred meters before instructing me to walk up an on ramp. This is obviously something very dangerous, but I took no notice and instead decided that Sprint Navigation would never dream of leading me to a dangerous location. At this point a car with no windows drove by me and the occupants shouted something obscene. I felt violated. I continued to walk before ending up less then a quarter mile from the point I had started and the GPS was then telling me to walk in a very wide circle before continuing straight. I stopped in a parking lot to ask someone where I was and that's when I saw the windowless car and ran for my life. I don't know why I ran, I just got the feeling I was going to be raped. I never found that target, and shortly there after Sprint Navigation lead me to walk off of a nearly shear drop to a nearby road from the parking lot. I did however eventually find a K-mart that carried what I was looking for so that was nice. In conclusion, if you don't enjoy being raped do not use Sprint Navigation, it's essentially the same thing.

"This system should be called wild goose chase." on by amylou73

Pros: It gets you there eventually after several dead ends and you find out where things like bus parking lots and cemetaries are in a town.

Cons: This navigation sucks and sends you on the longest route possible. I'm never using this garbage again.

"Rather have it than not" on by djf69

    Pros: Convenient.
    Direction promps are clear
Easy to enter from website (Sprint Navigation) and access on your phone

Cons: Sometimes I have to reboot my phone (app I guess wigs out and gets stuck)
Directions after turns tend to be slow

Summary: It's ok for what it's worth. It's definitely not as good as having an actual GPS in your car where it gets directions via satellites vs. cell towers. So if you are comparing Sprint Nav to a Garmin GPS, forget it you'll be dissapointed.

But if you relatively know you way around and just need a little more specifics, this is pretty good. It's probably best not to enter your destination on your phone while driving. I've tried the voice call in and it's decent enough. I tend to enter my destination from the website before I start driving so when I launch the app, it shows up in MY FAVORITES already and you can just select your location and go.

Bottom line: It's not as good as a GPS system but it's a convenient feature. I continue to use it pretty regularly.
