"I love Sprint because I like Verizon & Alltel" on by MEGAmanJILL

Pros: Giant network! Free roaming! F&F plans! Fair web usage price!

    Cons: Not a thing!

Summary: Ok, I know this is a Sprint review and some are going to flam me for saying I like Verizon but I do. But! I love Sprint. Let me explain. Sprint has free roaming. 100 precent free voice and web roaming. at home i can set my phone to roam on Alltel's network. when out of state at college I can roam on Verizon's network. So the way I look at it is that I get Sprint-Verizon-Alltel network access for one price. When I am in some dorm rooms there is no Sprint service, but there is Verizon. At home in Georgia while in some of the rural areas and sometimes on Dixie Highway I roam on Alltel's network. Since I can use all of the voice features and web features while roaming, I get the best of all three networks. I sometimes set my phone to roam just for the h@ll of it. Sometimes I set it to roam because Sprint's web access might be running slow. The fact that I can roaming for free is the reason I have used to switch my entire family to Sprint. To me I see things in a logical way. Why would I ever need to go with Verizon or Alltel when I can use their networks for free?
At this point in time I don't even see any other cell phone company. As long as Sprint keeps letting me roam for free then I'm going to stay for as long as I live!

"Better then all use I have tried." on by slugithome1977

Pros: fast internet, lots of phones to choose from, nights starting at 7pm, fair and flexible plans are a nice change of pace, free roaming

    Cons: none so far.

Summary: I switched from Cingular last november.I wanted a KRZR but I wasn't about to goback to Verizon. My service with Sprint has been solid. No dead zones, just 2 weak areas.Even when only 1 bar is on the screen my calls are clear and don't drop. The roaming area is large enough that I don't worry about if I will be stuck somewhere without it.The big plus with Sprint over Cingular and Verizon is that those 2 companies have complete dead zones. No service what so ever.I havn't run into this problem with Sprint. If the area is weak,I can just set my phone to roam only and use the services just like I would on there own network.I haven't used all of the internet features yet.I have used the tv and I use Opera mini and gmail everyday.I know some people complain about Sprint but I don't see why. Maybe they have a crappy phone.I don't know.I am happy.

"Customer care a misnomer" on by rmharp

Pros: Cannot believe there are many.

    Cons: sadly...many

Summary: Store personel are not enabled to help. Phone personel cannot help and claim no one can.
If you are out of contract the "retention" department have some latitude but still lack real ability to assist.
Investor relations claim they are concerned about churn....but they lie too. They claim all of their problems revolve around integrating Nextel in to Sprint.
Their bigger problem is not caring for current customers. That is sad too.

"MEAN CUTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE" on by juliusedlavitch

Pros: We are happy with our plan

Cons: They billed us for service we never asked for

Summary: I recenlty reviewed our bill and found they added charges we never asked for. We have had this contract since 2002 but last July they added to my wife's phone internet and text messaging. I called and said she never used it
They are hostile and mean, The supervisor was meaner. I called later and asked when my plan ended
Lucky for me it ended in June so maybe this next person was nicer because of this
After 5 people I finally got my credit
but it took a lot to get a credit for something I never asked for in the first place and for sure my wife never asked for

They even know we never used it
I felt like they could just do anything to me even
    It was like being raped
a big gorrila can force things on you even if they were not fair

I am disappointed with Sprint because of this
I just wanted them to be fair

"Sprint Yes Nextel No" on by notnowjohn

Pros: Free Incoming calls, good variety of plans; customer service; the dump button

Cons: Nextel coverage areas, nextel customer service; handset reliability

Summary: I signed up with Sprint in 97, the first year they offered PCS coverage in Philadelphia. I was attracted to the $75 for 1500 minute plan they were offering at the time and I was a satisfied customer ever since. Then last year I decided to give Nextel a try. They offered free incoming minutes, which I later found out the PCS side could offer and they multiple business lines, plus the direct connect which at 1st seemed useful and now I hardly use at all. I also assumed that since Nextel was a part of Sprint everything else would pretty much the same. Was I ever wrong. From the first day I had the phone until current, my Nextel experience has been a nightmare. More drop calls than I can count, poor reception in and around Philadelphia, poor voice quality from the incoming calls and finally complete service shut down. I tried to resolve these issues with Nextel to no avail. No credit for dropped calls, which Sprint PCS will give up to a $5.00 credit per month. I tried to switch back to Sprint and they would only offer me a 2 year plan and no credit for the phone. Even though I would remind them I was a 10 year customer that didn't matter. My contract is up at the end of this month and unfortunately I am going to drop them like a bad habit. Verizon or T-Mobile are the carriers I am considering. To to sum it up if you are considering Sprint make sure you are getting the PCS side, not Nextel.
