"Merely OK for a large carrier"
Pros: Actual service ok
Cons: Very disorganized
Summary: Having worked for Nextel after the merger in 2005, the whole system is very disorganized, with Sprint changing policies every few days. Just a note: the cell service for Nextel customers is not based on Sprint towers and the merger had no effect on that. However, the subscriber base is so large that calls are bumped off on a regular basis, causing a general impression of poor service. The network is performing as designed. More towers are being added (there was a $2.6 billion budget for Network repair and enhancement for 2006).
