"For me it is just another junk" on by kriskret

Pros: Pros ? 1. -that is working at all.
    2. I didn't buy it.

Cons: Bluetooth ? -limited, The G1 doesn't include a standard headphone jack and lacks stereo Bluetooth and Microsoft Exchange support. The GPS tracking was bad, and speakerphone quality wasn't good at all.. Doesn't work with Java applets.

Summary: I didn't have a time to check if there are some 3-rd party software working on this phone. What the reason to buy the phone with such a serious number of limitations ?
Folks... let's stop buying these ****-quality toys. Let's show m.f . that we are demanding customers.

    "Playing catchup" on by zvonr

Pros: 1. Java as dev language (I am not sure that this is an advantage for the end user ...)
    2. Open Source? (I am not sure that this is an advantage for the end user ...)
    3. Removable battery

Cons: 1. TMobile poor network coverage
    2. UI inconsistent and ugly
    3. No headphone jack
    4. No Multitouch!!!!!!
    5. No Accelerometer
    6. Ugly Design (my subjective opinion)
    7. Keyboard necessary due to inferior touch screen, making the phone bulky.

Summary: The only reason to buy this phone is if you hate Apple or ATT.
This phone attempts to play catchup with the iphone, and fails in catching up.
Choice is no advantage when all your choices suck...

"Ugly and uninviting" on by bubblebathgirl

    Pros: Google and Google.

Cons: Screen size, screen responsiveness, lack of 3.5mm jack, no quality control on apps, bulky design courtesy of superfluous keyboard, uninviting design.

Summary: I don't like a product that under-impresses and then claims to be worthy of over-impressing acclaim. It's simply just another "smart phone" that tries to play catchup instead of improving on what has already been proven to work best.

    Updated on Sep 25, 2008

There's no 3.5mm headphone jack ... are you kidding me? LOL - and the extra keyboard makes it thick and annoying.

The screen is unresponsive, and the apps have no QA.

    2 Thumbs down.

The iPhone screen is very sensitive and works great. It's simple, easy to use, and helps correct mispelled words (if you want it to). It's a simple and smart solution ... forward thinking ... not stuck in the past like the wannabees.

mpbjuno, if releasing a phone with worse technology is your idea of thinking outside the box then you obviously need to buy yourself a new box.

punkzanyj, physical buttons are passe and inefficient, just like the rotary dial is compared to the touchtone.

pchasco, the screen is plenty unresponsive and laggy, just watch the video reviews and you will see.

AnthonyNYC, the lack of a 3.5mm jack is widely agreed to be a substantial flaw to any "smart" phone design. If you disagree you are in the minority and are probably living under a rock.

futurevanurse, you can learn much of what you need to know from reviews such as those on CNET. Other video reviews have shown the lack of responsiveness to the screen and the laggy interface. Look how thick the phone is also, do you like carry a brick around in your pocket?

Don't be angry, it's just a poorly executed phone. Next!

"Security high risk" on by jwkckid1

    Pros: Easy to use

Cons: After our security staff reviewed Android, we have recomended to
our clients that this product has significant potential to security, privacy,
    and therefore IDtheft exposier.

Summary: As stated, to my organizations security staff, this Android OS has many significant
security holes, extensive potential for privacy and IDtheft. To use Android is
asking for huge financial and personal information propagation that could and
is likely to cause very problemsum if not devistating ramifications.
