"Not worth the money!" on by billblack586

Pros: Better screen quality, lighter slimmer design!

Cons: Poor speaker phone, no video playback, phone conversation was poor, nothing new added other than better screen quality.

Summary: I feel that all consumers who go out and buy the Sidekick LX, are being robbed the LX is no different than the Sidekick 3, it only has better screen quality lighter and slimmer, and that is really just about it! The speakerphone is pretty weak, not as strong as the Sidekick Slide which I prefer. Phone conversations didn't sound to great not as good as other $400 phones I've tested!
The LX is just a attempt to milk more money out of kids everywhere who enjoy the sidekick brand. Now when comparing the LX to the ID there are major differences, when comparing it to the Slide in my opinion their are none.
There really isn't anything to get excited about with the LX. Point blank the Sidekick brand needs to step its game up, by allowing Motorola to create the slide which is the best Sidekick to date in my opinion only shows that Danger needs a ton of help in terms of keeping it's brand up to date. If your not sure which one to purchase between the LX and the Slide its simple if you have big hands and fingers you might want to purchase the LX, if not save the $100 bucks and get the slide.

"MMS MMS MMS MMS MMS MMS MMS MMS MMS" on by yottabyte21

Pros: finally has MMS, keyboard is much improved, bigger and higher quality screen

Cons: no wifi, can always ask for better battery life

Summary: the keyboard is a nice blend between the Sidekick 2 which was all rubber, and the 3 which was all plastic. So it's much more comfortable for those IM conversations that go way into the night. The screen is now supporting 65K colors which is sweet. Much better than the previous models, and its a noticeable size bigger. While i wish there was an option to get this thing in black, the midnight blue is far better than the espresso brown. also, the myspace app isnt too shabby, and this is coming from someone who just left the helio ocean. if this thing had wifi, and supported voip it'd be g2g. also, Opera browser support would be appreciated.

at the end of the day, there really is no mobile device with a keyboard better than the Sidekicks.

"Pretty Much the Same as the Sidekick 3" on by god546

Pros: Better Screen, Lights up when called, Lighter and Slimmer

Cons: Not any different from Sidekick 3, Camera Still Sucks, the apps still aren't great etc

Summary: This new sidekick really isnt much of an improvement from the Sidekick 3. It is a little bit slimmer and has a better screen, but other than that there aren't any real differences. Its also really expensive ($300) so with that money you could just buy a sidekick 3 and have money left over. Or buy almost any other phone from T-mobile.

    "Solid update" on by disarmed

Pros: Gorgeous screen, great keyboard, excellent messaging capabilities

Cons: No Wi-Fi/3G support, substandard camera

Summary: Let's be honest about the Sidekick's audience, all right? The Sidekick is aimed at the MySpace generation, which means that it's aimed at a younger age group that relies primarily on texting for communication and is more or less always connected to the internet. In that regard, the Sidekick is pretty much unbeatable.

Everything about the Sidekick is stylish, sleek, easy to use, and intuitive. There's been a lot of noise about T-Mobile not doing too much in the feature department for the SKLX, but look at it this way: did they really have to do much? Video messaging and a better camera might have been nice inclusions, and not adding Wi-Fi support seems a bit silly, but other than that...what else? Corporate email is never going to be necessary for the Sidekick userbase; the price is steep but you get a lot of wear out of a Sidekick.

The speaker's not top-rate, but it gets the job done, and on a Sidekick, you're going to spend more time texting than talking anyway. Messaging is handled extremely well, as always, and there's the added bonus of adjustable text size on the LX. The trackball remains an excellent navigational tool -- I rarely find myself using the D-Pad at all.

All in all, the Sidekick LX excels at what it sets out to do: it's fun and usable.
