"Do Not Buy This POS Phone!"
0.5 starson by lucidwriter912Pros: -Cheap (for a reason)
-Uh... Touch screen?Cons: -VERY laggy when texting
-Buttons slowly stop responding
-HORRIBLE reception everywhere
-EMAIL WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!
-Small, cramped virtual keyboardSummary: I was so excited to buy the Tap that the moment I heard about it, I ran out and got it (with my upgrade) for only 80$. I'm SO glad I didn't pay the original $170.
The only good things (for me) were that it was cheap and it was a touch screen. But, as I pointed out, it's cheap for a reason.
When I text, the screen lags so much it often missed a whole word or two. It was very frustrating and tedious to try and type a message longer than three words.
As I said, I bought a brand new Tap. The day I got it, the 'e', 'r', 'c' and 'a' buttons on the QWERTY keyboard didn't respond at all. Then, in the 123 keyboard, the DEF key didn't work most of the time, and the bar to select your word didn't respond much. On websites, it was very annoying to try and tap a link, like 'search' on google.
I have never dropped calls before I got this phone, and suddenly, I dropped every other one. I switched my sim card to my trusty little samsung T329, and I had five bars, perfect service. Switched back to the Tap, and one bar, very low service.
The whole reason I got this phone was because I was promised by TMobile that it had the built in Email app. After three phones and six hours with T-Mobile representatives and IT guys, they could not get my email to work. It either had a message saying "download fail. login error" though i put in all my information right, or "download fail. check service connection". I never got my email to work.
It was very hard to text on the Tap, and the buttons were so small it made it that much harder.
If you're looking into getting a touch screen phone, DO NOT GET THE TAP! It's worth the money to get a more expensive phone than go through months trying to get this POS to work. I ended up using my mom's free upgrade to get the Samsung :) Smiley, and it's worth it. Thanks to the Tap, I'm never using a touch screen again.
