"Great regional coverage; no frills service"
Pros: Great service coverage in ?local? calling area; nationwide talk plans; good customer service
Cons: Late to deliver new phones to market; truly a regional carrier; special services are expensive
Summary: I've been a customer for 8 years now, and when they implemented nationwide talk plans they got me for another 2 years. Prior to offering these plans, they were truly a midwest regional carrier. MN, IA, IL, WI, MO. If you left the area or hit pockets?...be ready for .69/minute roaming charges!
It always seems like they're the last carrier to market new phones with new features and have a very limited selection.
Their customer service has always done a good job of handling my concerns and - within their network region - there are an ample number of stores for support and repairs.
I travel outside of their local network 4 or 5 times a year and barely justify the nationwide call plan; to me, being able to carry my own phone with all of my appt's is critical, and nationwide enables it.
Their 'internet' service is coming along, but again, far behind what some other providers already offer.
In a nutshell, not cheap, no frills, but great coverage in the Midwest, and just acceptable nationwide plans.
