"Good Basic Phone."
Pros: good screen size and clear display
bluetooth
memory card
keypad feel and layout(raised keys and not small)
signal strength and quality
good battery lifeCons: no extended battery yet
Summary: My speakerphone works fine, but may not be loud enough for some people. I switched to the Verizon (PCD) CDM8950 from my LG VX7000. The camera picture quality is slightly worse but the video is better. Memory card function and bluetooth are definitely a bonus. I am not a cellphone geek or junkie. I use it for making and receiving calls, and occasionally snap a pic or take some video. This is a good phone for me. Signal strength seems as good as my old phone.
no custom leather cover yet
call quality is very slightly worse than my old vx7000(still good though)
one handed opening hard cause the phone's thin
only 30 sec of video even with mem card(might be a way to fix it)
-Battery life with default setting and 2-3 bar 1x reception was 8days 17hrs
-Battery life with 1x only enabled 2-3 bar reception 9days 8hrs.
To access the phones service menu enter ##program(send) then zero's for the code. Go to IS-95/1x/1xEV-DO menu.
-hybrid_pref menu allows you to switch between (hybrid)-allows the phone to simultaneously use 1x(voice and data), and EV(high speed data only), and (non-hybrid) the phone will be in EV mode instandby and 1x in talk. SETTING PHONE TO NON-HYBRID WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS IN STANDBY MODE. only data!!
-pref_mode menu allows you to switch between CDMA(1x data and voice) and HDR(EV)data only). Setting to CDMA will automatically turn off EV reception capabilities and can extend battery life.
--EV(HDR) is high speed data only. If you don't download alot use CDMA(1x) only.
