"Absolutely the worst"
Pros: None to speak of
Cons: Bad billing, bad reception, bad calls
Summary: I have had four phone carriers. While Verizon is not the absolute worst, it is the second worst in my opinion. First, let's talk call quality. I had three cell phones with Verizon over a two year period. It should not matter what phone a customer has, the call quality should still meet some standard. I went from a cheap, freebie phone to a very expensive phone and still had tinny, hollow-sounding calls. Second, billing was awful. When I started with Verizon, I could either mail my bill or drive all the way across town to pay it in person. Since I only had a credit card at the time and no checking account, that was an annoyance. It WAS the age before the really customer-oriented websites, but still... Also, I never had the same bill twice. I stayed within my minutes almost every time, overages maybe two months out of my two year contract. And yet, my bill was never a standard price. They were always jacking me around for one thing or another, even though I didn't sign up for extra services. Lastly, calls would drop for no reason. I would stand still in a spot where I had four or more bars and the call would still drop for no reason. I will never go with Verizon again.
