"Cheap, Good Coverage, Good Support, DIY Cellphone"
Pros: Virgin mobile is cheaper than competition, I have never had a dropped call, coverage is consistent (even in rural Iowa), perfect for those who don't talk a lot, no 2-year contracts, live support, you monitor everything online, no surprises
Cons: Phones are a little behind industry standards (only 1 3G phone, no touchscreens), to get to live support there is a phone tree
Summary: I have used virgin mobile for 4 years, and they really do work for the customer. I monitor everything online- texting, minutes, pictures and their website makes it very easy to change account services. My service costs me $10 /month (I buy a texting plan and get free minutes through the website) and I am never surprised by a bill- my dad has had 2-3 shocks from $130 Verizon bills. Virgin mobile doesn't levy all the $2-3 convenience/interstate charges and their service straightforward. You don't need a credit card, and your phone is run like a bank account, with a running balance of funds. The two problems I had were resolved quickly, and both times I was satisfied with the end result. These phones are perfect for those who don't constantly talk.
