"A complete strike-out, someone should lose their job at GE over this."
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Low volume, hissing sound, hard to read screen, intuitive-free set-up and operation.
Summary: What a disappointment.
Having spent the bare minimum on phones for years, I decided to splurge and buy a great phone. I thought I was getting the latest and greatest, but what I got was a low performing, needlessly confusing, expensive, yet snazzy looking, phone.
The ringer and ear volume aren't nearly loud enough.
A loud hissing sound is present in the background at all times.
Set-up and operation is extremely frustrating and non-intuitive.
For example, if you want to use the speaker-phone feature you press a well labeled button marked "speaker" and voila!, the button lights up, stays lit, and the speaker-phone is on. Now, if you want to shut-it off in the middle of a conversation, you would think pressing that big, glowing "speaker" button would shut it off. You would be incorrect, that will HANG UP THE PHONE! You need to press the "Talk" button that you would use to turn the phone on and get a dial tone. This makes no sense.
Everything else, minus maybe making a simple phone call, is just as clunky and complicated. From the intercom feature to using the call-waiting to choosing a ring-tone.
Whomever approved this phone for production was absolutely negligent in their duty. The phone is just a flat out turkey in every possible way.
