"This Phone Has Problems"
Pros: Great Features and nice sound when it works
Cons: I've had this phone for two weeks. At first I was very impressed. However, after the first day I picked the ringing handset up and heard nothing. I thought my phone line had gone dead. I had no dail tone. My husband came home and removed the power fr

they're second/third rate at best, now.
I have the 2-line version and from the moment I got the phone set up I had problems that Uniden really didn't care about. I contacted them, got a rep that was to be checking into my problems and never heard back. This took my ownership of the phone past 30 days. I finally got a hold of someone at Uniden and was told that they just make the phones available and to go back to the retailer. Too late. Uniden refused to deal with the problems. So my next calls were to the FCC and FTC.
The problems I had were the phones did not ring until the callers 3rd ring. My second was their 5th and by then they were sent to voicemail or hung up. Also being a two line phone, when a call came in on the other line and I was on the phone, it cuts out/interupts the line you're on as it rings.
The reason I bought the phone was at the time it was the best 2-line phone on the market after I had gone through many VTechs. VTech is considered a "disposable" products company. They just don't last. That's really sad.
Although they have features and a great form factor . . . Stay Away from Uniden. -
The problem is DSL. This phone is super sensitive, and if the filter is slightly out of wack, then your phone will be problematic. I received 5 filters with my DSL package. I found two that would function correctly (several days ea. to test). I actually liked the phone, so I was willing to put the effort into making it work. - You can probably move your phone back to the office.

I am having the exact same problem and Uniden could not give me a satifactory solution. They suggested I return the 5.8 and purchase the 2.4. They had me thinking it was a problem on my end and not the fault of the base unit.

I had to comment on this users note about this phone. Lately I have been using Phone after Phone.. BestBuy Hates me because I have returned 4 phones, 2 2.4ghz & 2 5.8ghz ALL have shut down my Wireless internet.. It is absolutely driving me insane because nobody is stating what signals they are using for either party.. I have a vonage phone so when I get on the phone my computers stop using the internet because it takes priority.. I found information on the internet about 2.4 ghz phones but now I have tested 3 5.8ghzs and all manufacturers say that it should work. Is there a way to get the data from the companies of Linksys, Dlink and Phone manufacturers and find a winning combo?
