Pros Awesome custom ringers and pictures
Cons Drops calls all the time
Summary I bought this phone thinking that this was it, this would be the last phone for me, but that was so far from the truth. My house is big, about 180 feet from one end to the other, I never thought it would make it all the way, but it didnt even make it half way. The phone worked fine for the first few months and then it started to drop calls every once and a while, and then all the time. It has gotten to the point where the phone is ringing, I hit the answer key and it drops the call - "searching for base" - I run for another phone, and the same problem. The only reliable place to answer the phone is at the base using the speakerphone. At first I thouth it was that maybe I was too far from the base, but the phone could be in front of the main base unit and still drop the call. Tech support is a crock, wait for 45 minutes to get someone who does not even know how the phone functions, I tried everything they asked, unplug, replug, take out battery, reset phones with base, move phones around, the only thing I did not try was to hold the phone with my right hand, scratch my nose while my left knee was in the air and throw it off a bridge. VERY dissapointed with this phone, you would think that since it is on every tv show you can imagine that it would work worth something, but no way. And I would say maybe it was just my bad luck, but I have one base station and two handsets, none work. Even worse is that I recommened it to a friend and his doesnt work now either. We do love the ringer feature, the kids have set up some cool ringers for different callers, but besides that, this phone is pathetically expensive and BAD!
Pros Great design, easy to use and setup, awesome features
Cons no caller ID
Summary This phone would be revolutionary if caller ID would work with my Vonage VOIP. You can upload pics and sounds via USB, export phone books from Outlook or other programs, record your own ring tones even. It looks slick and modern and it's comfortable to talk with for long periods. The speakerphone is one of the best I've ever used and the pre-recorded answering maching greeting sounds like high-dollar talent (I'm in the acting biz, so I can recognize top tier talent when I hear it) and not robotic at all.
You should think twice about this phone if you use VOIP because of the snafu with caller ID, but otherwise an outstanding phone.
"Sexy, sleek, stainless steel on black, color screen, advanced technology--sensational!"on by aerochick
Pros Uplinks via USB to Outlook for names, numbers and photos; Syncs with computer or stereo for personal wav ringtones
Cons None, except that it's a bit pricey and doesn't come with the headset
Summary This phone is perfect! We have the base and an extra handset, and they are both great looking, hard working, efficient additions to our fully computer integrated household. It connects to the computer via USB so you can sync with Outlook (you'll need to create a separate csv file for the phone book with only names and numbers), you can download pictures (color screen!) from your personal "my photos" files, or you can download themed photos to match the decor of your rooms from google images or wherever... The reception is clear and long-lasting, the ability to connect the headset is really nice (husband uses it a LOT for business), and of course, uploading personal rings is kind of neat, too. It looks terrific in our kitchen with the stainless appliances, too! The handset just looks "sleek" (although my teenagers think it looks rather like a remote control). It does not interfere with the wireless router, and thus, the batteries won't die in a matter of hours. (My last phone batteries died very quickly due to the 5.8 conflict with the router...)
I say GO get this phone! I priced checked it through Costco (119 for base and 69 for the extra unit) and Best Buy matched it. (Costco had it only online, Best Buy had it in stock.)
Pros Wireless 5.8ghz ... won't interfere with most router's
Summary This IS the best home or business phone available. Why? The answer is simple, and I won't take to long to explain. Simply, it's the most stylish, most durable, and since it's Vtech, you know it the best quality available. No, but honestly, this phone is amazing. It runs at 5.8ghz, meaning there is no signal interference, it has a bright color lcd, and it is EXTREMELY easy to do anything on the phone, whether it be use phone book, check messages caller Id, it is all so easy, and also everything can be done on the handset.
Pros After I bought this model at Best Buy the phone worked great. Caller I.D. and I could download my contacts from Microsoft Outlook Contacts. Sleek Looking, Small Base that fit my desk.
Cons Battery Life was short. Bought a replacement battery. Call keep dropping less that a few feet from base. Now the handset is "Searching for Base" while on the base..... YIKES.
Summary Nice phone for the first year, but after that you might as well buy another phone.
