"Will not print edited/photoshopped images at all."

Pros

If printing directly from a camera, or if printing an original JPEG image, the printer works well.

Cons

This printer does NOT recognize a JPEG file that has been retouched/edited with a computer. This means that PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc., cannot be used to alter a camera-based JPEG file then printed on this printer. It won't recognize the file !!

Cannon technical support today indicated that this printer will only read unaltered JPEG files. This is a serious limitation, as no image that has been cropped, rotated, or touched up in any way can be read if transferring the image via SD card or USB drive. Buried in small print in their Troubleshooting section is a disclaimer, "Make sure you are using a supported image type." This refers the user back to an earlier section which states, "... images that have been edited on a computer may not display or print properly." This means that one cannot print a PDF file, a TIFF file, a GIF file or any edited JPEG image from portable media storage.

This is really unfortunate for my needs. In my opinion, if a printer is advertised as being able to print JPEG images from SD cards and/or USB drives, then at a minimum it should accept all images stored in JPEG format, not just "raw" JPEG files.

I will now go fight with FRY's to see if I can get a refund...
