"Not easy to use at all, very frustrating"

    by waynester5 on June 25, 2006

    Pros: no pc needed

    Cons: ink cartridge, camera interface

Summary: I tried to replace the ink cartridge and had the most difficult time removing the original cartridge - no instructions and no customer support help. It took about 2 hours to do take it out, requiring me to unscrew and disassemble the entire device. After I finally removed the ink cartridge, and installed the new one, it never worked after having taken it apart. This was the most frustrating. The second greatest hit was trying to get the camera interface to read the camera. this was only about 1.5 hours. The one positive note about all of this is that it is easy to print once it works and the photo quality is not bad.

got the ink out ok, but when I put the new one in, it tore and didn't work. Happened twice--very frustrating.

I have the exact same printer and I was able to review and print out 10 photos (which used up my sample ink cartridge and paper)in about 15 minutes. Than I decided to pull out the ink cartridge in one minute. All I did was open the little door on the side of the printer and push the green button up...and the ink cartridge pulled right out! Than I popped right back in. So sorry you had such a bad time figuring out the printer dock...I love my printer and found it to be very easy like my Easy Share camera. Oh, this is my first digital camera. But may I suggest for the next time you have any difficulty with all this high tech stuff (it is to me anyway), have a kid about 12 and up show you how to use it. These kids learn all this stuff in school and from their friends. Kids are very high tech functional these days. I had my teenage son teach me how to use the camera and printer dock but I figured out how to open and remove the ink cartridge. Send your dock back to Kodak with a letter explaining what happened and I bet they will help you out. Don't feel bad and good luck!
