Sony PictureStation DPP-FP30 review

Only a mild, yellow cast marred the quality of our test prints, which displayed well-saturated colors and accurate flesh tones. The 300dpi resolution meant that a faint dot pattern was visible under 10X magnification, but we didn't see any objectionable "jaggies" in diagonal lines.

Sony also offers product support and a searchable knowledge base through its Web site. But unfortunately, when we searched for information about this printer, we repeatedly came up empty-handed. If you follow the Service & Support link from the site, click Digital Imaging Products, and search by product, the PictureStation DPP-FP30 doesn't show up in the drop-down product list. We did find operating instructions for the printer by typing DPP-FP30 into the Sony IQ Reference Library search, though only after we struck out using the full product name (PictureStation DPP-FP30). Sony should make it easier to find relevant product information.
