Pros Excellent Selection Of Games. And The Graphics!
Cons Xbox 360 console is UN!-Dependable!
Summary I enjoyed my Xbox 360 for about a year when it took a crap on me. The dreadful "Three Red Rings Of Death" I was so pissed off at Microsoft even with the original Xbox it seemed like just after the 1 year warranty expired so did the Xbox itself! I went through 4 Xbox console within 3 1/2 years. You have to wonder if there consoles are actually programmed to shut down after there 1 year warranty. So getting back to the 360. I called customer support explained to them what happened, luckily they extended there warranty (3 years) for users experiencing the flashing red lights. I waited about 5 days to get a shipping box and waited another 5-6 days for them to recieve it and then about 2 1/2 weeks to "repair" it. It was a very hard month for me so you could only imagine how happy i was when i recieved it in the mail, I ran inside, pushed Grandma out of the way! Ripped the box open using only my teeth, set it up and it work perfectly!... for about 3 hours!!! I was in the middle of watching TMNT on HD that I was streaming off of the Xbox Live Market Place, when it froze! I shut it off hoping that is was just the Market Place acting up, so i turned it back on and i got a "System Error Message" and a flashing red light it was dead! again! I have lost all trust in Microsoft, i have no where to turn. I hate the Sony PS3 (it's Garbage) So what is a gamer to do? Now I'm currently waiting for another shipping box and another month ahead. Just when I started playing COD4! So make sure you get an extended warranty! And I hope you guys never have to go through what i have gone through.
It's your Boy Spartan2491 signing out.
Peace, Love, and Gaming.
Pros It's one the best anger testers on the market.
Cons RRoD error, E74 error, you HAVE to pay $60 per year just to play online, disc read errors, no built-in Wi-Fi, graphics are inferior to PS3 exclusives, still uses DVD, hard drive goes up to 250 GB, terrible technical support, no web browser.
Summary Get a PS3... its the smarter choice. I've had it with the Xbox 360. The PS3's failure rate is esimated to be half of the Xbox 360's and the PS3 includes built-in Wi-Fi and you can upgrade the hard drive in the PS3 up to the size of any laptop hard drive (the biggest ones I've seen on Newegg are 640 GB). The PS3 also has Blu-ray, which looks way better than DVD, and offers native 24p support. Also, PlayStation Network is free and you can now do many of the things you can on Xbox Live Gold, even stream Netflix (you do need to get a disc from Netflix, which is free). Game developers have already reached the limits of the Xbox 360's hardware in games. For the PS3, games such as Uncharted 2 utilize 90-100% of its CPU and look beautiful. As for online, there is a game called MAG on the PS3 and it supports up to 256 players in one map without any lag. The Xbox 360 has one overhyped exclusive: Halo 3, and no other games appear to be recognised. The PS3 has tons of exculsives: Ratchet & Clank Future: a Crack in Time, MAG, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, God of War III, Heavy Rain, Infamous, Uncharted 2, etc.. Also, Microsoft invented Internet Explorer and they couldn't even port into their game console!
I like the Windows operating system, but I am severly dissapointed with the Xbox 360. You can more features in the PS3 for the same cost as the Xbox 360.
Pros Black, larger HD than 'Arcade', HDMI output
Cons Hardware problems weren't addressed.
Summary I'm going to be straight-forward. I support Sony. If this makes me a fan-boy in your eyes, so be it. However, I'm going to keep this very non-fanboy-ish. I just need to say my peace somewhere...
I'm a gamer at heart. Love to play video games, I do. The Xbox seems like a great machine, and probably has the PS3 beat in some areas, like graphics. I honestly wouldn't mind having an Xbox, simply so I could play the undoubtedly awesome games that aren't available for the PS3. But, how can I justify paying for the system (and maybe a Live membership) when I'm aware of the failure rate and how long it takes for the RMA cycle to complete? If none of this were the case, Microsoft would have in me another customer - and from what I hear, a very pleased one.
This is the core of my humble opinion: In my eyes, until Microsoft addresses these issues, especially the hardware problems, this system will remain inferior to the PS3.
Pros Processor and graphics performance ok and a 120Gb HDD is good! I like the optical connection for sound systems.
Cons No integrated WiFi ! No integrated Blu-ray drive! HDMI connection only 1.2 I'll stay with the PS3 until Microsoft wake up!
Summary I want to be able to use Natal when available, but I will not relinquish integrated Wifi and Bluray.

Pros Games, Graphics, HDMI, XBox live movies, 120 GB hard drive.
Cons None from me.
Summary This was my first X-Box. I decided on the Elite because it was , and still is, the top of the line X-Box, and If I was going to spend the money, I might as well get the best one. I have no complaints with it, and have never had a problem with it in the 2 years , yes I said 2 years, that I have owned it. As for the ring of death I have heard so much about , I have been told that you need to play this thing frequently and for long periods at a time (6 hrs or more every day) to kill it. I only play mine a few hours a week at the most. I find it funny that people on this sight are complaining about the HDMI port not being 1.3. Really? Who really cares? For 99% of the people it doesn't really matter. The unit being noisy? The sound of the game drowns it out. If you are going to complain find something better to complain about.
