"Did they really fix it?"
1.5 starson by dancingmindPros: Large install base
Cons: Lots of immature players on Xbox live
Large Failure rate of machines
Not bringing much to the gaming industrySummary: I am angry that buying the Xbox 360 Elite was promising that they fixed the bug that was causing so many earlier units to fail. I understand the great potential the machine has, but if it is not going to work, can the praise still be given to the machine? Also, the favorite part of the xbox platform is its online functionality. To me it is not all that great as there are a lot immature kids playing online. They just want to pump their crotch on you when you die or use friendly fire against your team to increase kill rates. I am tired of hearing whiny voices of kids who should not even be playing the M rated games online. Headset functionality is not a great feature if it means hearing whiny immature punks.
When my xbox broke, then 2 of my friends' systems, i realized that was 3 of the 3 people i know who own an xbox. So it's not hard for me to imagine a 50% failure rate... Why would anyone put up with this is beyond me. I have had enough. My girlfriends Wii still works and we've had controllers fly into the thing. My other friends expensive PS3 is an amazing machine and used to be too expensive to compare, but now at equal pricing further makes me wonder why pay for this Elite package that will likely break. I understand being proud of what you purchase, but if you need to convince yourself that it is superior when there is evidence that the product is poorly made... why are you bothering to support it? Are you getting paid... As a customer, I get angry when what i pay for breaks and doesn't do what it should do and YOU SHOULD TOO.
Lastly, Microsoft as a company is not bringing anything to the gaming community. They are a company that has historically bought out companies to reach a greater profit. When they are done with the bought companies they leave them to rot. The use of purchased Rare developers has not inspired a single creative game yet. The developers who made the excellent Gotham Racing series were dropped by microsoft. The developers that made the excellent Oddworld series were bought, dried out, then dropped by microsoft. Bungie is getting tired of microsoft too... If Natal is actually a working device, it could just be the first thing Microsoft has brought the gaming community to forward it rather than cripple it. With Microsoft's history of trying to duplicate better operating systems, but ultimately having one that is not dependable be released to the masses, should we be surprised their console is doing the same thing. Doesn't it frighten you the idea of Microsoft dominating the videogame market too and destroying competitors that are actually making attempts to keeping the gaming genre fun!?
