Pros Best lineup of games, good hardware, nice design, fast bootup
Cons Dashboard menus sometime have slow response time, Halo 3 freezes on me every once-and-a-blue-moon, expensive wifi adapter, would like more hard drive space.
Summary I was one of the few to get my 360 with LOT# 0736, Team FDOU -- which uses the new Falcon motherboard. So far, no RRoD. Fans run loud, and except for the occasional freeze during Halo 3, everything functions well.
Though not perfect, it's a terrific system. More importantly, though, the game lineup is good, and keeps getting better. I also pay for Xbox Live, which adds a lot of value to the system. Even if you can't stand the "Evil Microsoft Empire", you'll be very satisfied with this console. Happy gaming!
Pros Live Service as a whole, features.
Cons No web based service
Summary I bought my 2nd Xbox 360 and 1st elite prior to Christmas 2007. This system was updated with new hardware, it runs very quiet, very smooth.
The Live marketplace is the future. You can download Movies, HD DVD movies, TV shows, and more. I downloaded scooby doo for my 5 year old and it was just as I remembered it, no noticeable distortions.
You can turn your TV into a slide show by media sharing, play Music, Movies and works with the Zune Service.
However the article has some pricing errors. The HDDVD player has been reduced to $119.00 and comes with 5 HDDVD movies, by mail order.
The racing wheel has also been reduced to $99.99.
I recommend the Elite version the price difference between all other models is smaller then buying the accessories.
What would make this system is having the abilty to surf the web/email from the 360 at present it is not a feature, hopefully will be added sooner or later, other then that this system is the best you can get.
The Playstation just does not come close to touching the 360. The WII is also a nice system and has really good features as well, but the 360 Elite is the Ultimate.
