Pros touch screen
2 (big) speakers
Cons minor problems (will explain)
Summary I love the DS because it just opened up a whole new world of games! Before i get started, i would like to say that I belive its better than the DS lite and the new DSi because its simple and its for playing games not music or doing other stuff like that.
I love having the touch screen because its fun to do sutff on. The speakers are bigger than the GBA SP so it has better sound quality (to me at least), I first though that having 2 screens would make it so much harder to play games, but it worked out perfectly. the recharageable battery is very useful because it saves having to buy batterys (just not very useful as i vacation in england every year and a US charger doesn't do much good, thankfully i have a car charger and someone who has an old SP charger). I like the buttons better than the original GBA and the ds lite, they are easier to press to me.
the minor problems is that after having my DS for years (i bought it about 5 months before the DS lite came out in the US) is that i've just recently somehow gotten dust behind my top screen. I have tried blowing it out but nothing works. I only notice the dust when i'm in certain light or the DS is turned off, not a big deal really. another thing is the hinge is a little on the weak side if your not careful with your electronics. two of my friends hindges have broke slightly which lets you pull the screen up and down, my advice--take care of your electronics! (i only have 2 scratches on my touch screen and tahts bacuse my stiouls had something on it that caused it to scratch. I have NO scratches on the outside of my DS because i take care of it.
I like the DS over the PSP because the games are better and i like gameplay over graphics. I STILL PLAY A GAMEBOY GAME!!!
Pros Godd game selection, user friendly interface, great controls, great price.
Cons Somewhat bulky, does not have the graphical/multimedia power of the PSP.
Summary This is one of the best handhelds I have owned, the dual screen thing works out pretty good. It also does not cost as much as Alaska, this is a great game system and kicks the PSP's... you know what, even if it does not have as good of graphics as the PSP or the mulitimedia capabilities, game play on the DS is so much better and more fun.
Pros Dual Screen, Touch Screen, Lots of games, Prices right, Good Battery Life, Wireless..
Cons Nobody is every close enough to use the chat feature, it's an akward shape, the two screens can cause confusion
Summary I got it to replace my SP (I broke my sister's and had to give her mine) and I was ready for a change. It's a good product if you can find a comfortable position to hold it and if you don't have high hopes for the chat features. This just isn't the exact product that I want and if it wasn't for one game only for the DS that I love I would give this one to my sister and get my SP back.
Pros It's horrible and it's ugly game system
Cons DON'T BUY IT!
Summary Nintendo DS, This is probably the dumbist idea Nintendo has ever thought of! Two screens can do some big strains on your eyes. It's hard to control. Only 100ft for Wi-Fi Internet! Thats talking distance. The games are all the same and repeditve! Small libary, no games that get to gamers! Even the DS Lite is ugly! It's the same thing except smaller and better slick design and better color. Nintendo got that from Sony and Apple! The PSP is wayyyyy better than the DS. Don't buy the DS or your going to be chewing your gum for 1 hour just sitting playing the DS, and than you'll take it back and tell them "I don't like the DS."
