"While it is an amazing handheld, it does have flaws."
on by TheRealGameMasterPros Touch screen controls are pretty cool, better backlight provides more visible screen, much sleeker and slimmer than the original, sturdier L & R buttons than DS Phat, great range of games
Cons Gathers dust from all over the known universe, sucks your fingerprints off from across the room, no multimedia functions non-exclusive to Japan, poor Wi-Fi functionality, Touch screen can cause lapses in control, Who REALLY uses Picto-Chat?
Summary When I purchased the Nintendo DS and plugged it in, I expected to see cool touch screen innovations, and that's what I got. But what I wasn't expecting was a decent amount of above-average 3rd-party games and very good connectivity with friends. But wait! The only time I ever had a near-perfect multiplayer on Wi-Fi was when my friend and I were two feet away from our Wi-Fi signals. Anybody who you're playing in a different region is going to get a ton of connectivity errors and so will you. The Wi-Fi was fairly impressive when I was playing Pokemon Diamond and Mario Kart DS, but all of the 3rd-Party games that I've played have terrible connectivity issues that keep the DS's Wi-Fi function to be underwhelming.
Graphically, the DS doesn't disappiont, providing PS1 level graphics on a handheld console. And I thought Sony was the only game company that went absolutely crazed over slimming down consoles. Anyway, Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass has the best graphics that I can remember on a portable game system. It has great graphical capabilities and can use a lot of detail.
Overall, the DS is a quality product with a few flaws, but it's still worth a buy.

"Great product. Very entertaining"
on by gamefreak16Pros Smaller and slicker than the regular nintendo DS.. Different light settings so we can play at comfort
Cons Wifi connectivity can be very choppy and the slick design smuges very easily
Summary The product is very entertaining and has better features than the DS.

"Great system for a great low price period."
on by xdbuixPros There are a great variety of games and the system has potential to do more than games if you know how to do that =). Also it's easy to link up with other players, there is a huge selection of accessories.
Cons Wifi can be slow sometimes whether it's playing against someone or downloading something. Also there aren't as many colors as in Japan. The color selection in the US is small.
Summary Overall for $130, great hardware. Great system. Great games with plenty of accessories, but don't buy it now, because theres a new DS coming out REAL soon, nintendo DSi i believe. dual touch screens and skinnier
