"Gimmicky but worth buying" on by chardk1

Pros: Great screen(s), potential for entertaining games, plays GBA games

Cons: Bulky and unwieldy, still waiting for good games

Summary: For me, I never bothered with Game Boys because the crappy screens (even the SP) gave me eyestrain. The DS is the first Nintendo portable with a no-excuses screen. So for me it was a no brainer to buy, just to play GBA games.

The thing is too big and heavy though, and I'm still waiting for a DS game worth getting. But for people like me who have passed on GB's, it's a must buy. It does render the Game Boy Player on my GC obsolete however . . .

"Perfect succesor to gameboy sp" on by gamefanhalo

Pros: Great inovation with touch screen, backward compatibility, great battery life, great games

Cons: price might be a liitle bit steep, but considering its 100.00 cheaper than psp, get it

Summary: i dont know what thunderace is talking about, nintendo ds is the best handheld i have ever seen. How cool is it that you can play Mario 64 on the ds, with extras like mini games and other playable characters. Just wait till E3 to see the amazing games coming out for the system. I know everyone is mesmerized by the psp's screen, but once you look past that, and look at the games, there's nothing there but ps1 ports. BUY IT NOW

"Don't listen to the fanboy's." on by trot07

Pros: Graphics are a step up from game boy advance, Long battery life compared to psp, inovative features such as microphone, touchscreen, two screens, wireless multiplayer, online games in the making

Cons: Graphics aren't quite as detaild as psp, no analog stick, software launch was weak

Summary: Try to ignore all the fanboys from nintendo and sony. All you'll get from them is "Ds is Da *****, tO screenz is awsom!" Or "Ds sucs, wait til psp comes!" now how helpful is that? Honestly i've owned the system for about 3 months and it has it's strengths and weaknesss. The touch screen is very precise and the screens look great. There aren't a ton of games available right now but many good titles are down the road. It comes with an online chat program but right now it is pretty useless. however nintendo is putting the finishing touches on their online service when this happens the score should be a 9.

"This is definitely better than any other handheld!" on by bballjake

Pros: Touchscreen, Mic., double screens, wireless play!

Cons: so far not many games out

Summary: There are endless possibilities for this system, and it is extremely fun to play. My favorite so far is multi-player on Metroid Prime: Hunters. The remake of Mario 64 is awesome. A great experience for anyone, even if you've played the original. The picto-chat built-in function is easy to use, and perfect. All I ask of nintendo is some more games. Metroid will be good when the full version comes out.
