"Great System; Horrible Support."3.5 starson by WD90
Pros: Great innovation that can challenge developers.
Cons: Horrible Game lineup.
Summary: So far, I have had my DS since January 7th. Looking at the DS, the SYSTEM has gone beyond my expectations and has shown me a whole new way to play games. However, I'm wondering if there will ever BE games. With the PSP towering over it, the big argument from DS owners is that it's about GAMES, not all the other stuff-music, movies, photos, etc.
However, as it stands now, the PSP has about the same number of games as the DS. Hmmm...One came out in November...One came out about 3 weeks ago...Do you notice a problem there? Sure, everyone can say, "OMGWTFBBQ THER R 150 GAMS 4 TEH DS ANONSED U R STUPID!" Listen up. I've had my DS for about three months, so far I have seen 2 games that interested me. 2 measly games! And one was a port! And in the next few months, they have a fair amount of games coming out. 60% of which is a movie game (which 95% of them suck horribly) or a puzzle game. If I wanted a puzzle game, I'd buy a palm pilot and get an organizer with it!
So, for my review I gave it a 7...This system has HUGE potential, but Nintendo made a giant blunder on organizing their games and rushed their release date. So I bought my brand new PSP and have had more enjoyment in one week than I have in three months of DS. So my opinion: If you are really set on getting a DS NOW, go ahead. If you are thinking this would be a cool buy right now, wait. Wait for them to catch up on their games so you have something to play.
