  • "I love the DSi!"
    on by LWilliams77

Pros It has two cameras, is less bulky, has a microphone, can access an internet browser through wi-fii, has a slot for a SD card, and the graphics are better.

Cons You cannot use gameboy cartridges and the wi-fii doesn't seem to connect to certain wi-fii connections.

Summary Overall I love the DSi, I'm very happy to have it and use it almost every day.

  • "A superb improvement over the previous predecessors"
    on by AdamAllen

Pros Great Online support, Super-diverse game library ranging from Mario to CORE,
Touch technology, Camera, Audio playback support, In-built microphone,
keeps a huge variety of audiences entertained.

Cons Graphics are quite good for a portable system but inferior to the PSP's graphics

  • "Not Bad, but not Great"
    on by niko1415

Pros Bigger screen, speakers are loud, camera function (3 Megapixel = some what average camera), SD card (sooo much possibilities)

Cons Is region locked (at least right now), camera has no Zoom feature, no GBA slot (not a big deal in my part)

Summary Alright, so I own a first generation DS, which cannot go off of it's power cord for more than ten minutes. Sadly, it's time for an upgrade in my case. Although I have no issues with the old DS (seriously, it's as big as an old GBA. Come on people... It's not THAT big), I am sure surprised with the brightness and the wideness of the screen. Another immediate thing I realized is the audio -extremely louder than my old DS.

Now my issues with this system, is that it's region locked. I like my Japanese games, so I was hoping to be able to access the Nintendo Japan's store and get stuff. However, this dream soon shatters, and I am waiting for a custom firmware to unlock this stupid function. That is right -I am resorting to piracy to actually access stuff I would normally buy myself. If Nintendo serviced a patch to make it region free, sweey. But for right now, i am just waiting for that day when a universal hack is accessible.

I tinkered around the camera for a good hour or so, and I am quite amazed. the screen is also bigger than most digital camera, so I was pleased with this minor discovery. Then came a really dumb moment.... This thing has no zoom feature... Even a cell phone camera has a zoom feature... How can you skimp?

I am partially ok with the no GBA slots, since the only thing I used it for was to transfer pokemon (you are never to old to play that game). I don't play GBA games any more, since there is really no point in playing them. All of you may go with the nostalgia factor, but seriously, not many people buy GBA games, and not many people play it.

Overall I am pleased with buying this system... it COULD have been better, but for right now, I guess it's not bad... I'll just trade this in when the newer one comes out.
