"Super Small still strong.." on by Chad Adams
Pros: Not Available
Cons: Not Available
Summary: Nintendo's best Game Boy, hands down. It's ultra small size fits into any pocket, bag, or purse. The unit is very scratch resistant, but does come with a slip cover for the system included.
Nintendo still is supporting the Game Boy, now with the Micro developers are focusing on the older crowd but still keeping the young at bay with the GBA SP+ Nintendo is still working on games for the GBA including: Star Fox, Earthbound 2, Mario RPG (SNES Port), and Square with Final Fantasy VI.
If you are going portable for various reasons, get the micro but check an in-store demo to see if the size appeals. If it doesn't go with the SP for a little cheeper or a DS for a little more. -
"Do's and Don'ts" on by cikesef
Pros: Small, sleek, a great replacement, Skins fit on unwanted faceplates for cheap
Cons: only plays GameBoy Advance games, not recommended for hardcore gamers tight on cash
Summary: Do's and Don'ts
Instead of ranting and raving like a lunatic, I'm going to list Do's and Don'ts. hopefully all readers will fall under one of these.
Do get a GameBoy Micro if:
*You are a first-time gamer
*You have never owned a handheld before and are interested
*You are a Nintendo collector
*Your GameBoy Advance is broken or almost broken (e.g. "dead L button, sound doesn't work")
*Your GameBoy Advance SP is broken or almost broken (e.g. "dead R button, light will not turn on")
*You are image concious about your games and systems
Consider a GameBoy Micro if:
*You have a Nintendo DS, but it takes up too much pocket space
*You have an unbroken GameBoy Advance (Micro has significant improvements over the original)
*You can spare the extra 10 dollars for the Micro over the SP
Don't get a GameBoy Micro if: *You have a Nintendo DS and are fine with the pocket space *You have an unbroken GameBoy Advance SP -
"Awesome portable gamer" on by phatestcat
Pros: The GBM is perfect in everyway, small fast and ultra usable
Cons: The screen is on the small side
Summary: This is my first portable game machine and it's one wicked device.
I got mine on sale for NZ$120 about $75US so was a real bargain.
The game selection is great which remind me of the classic Amiga 500 games... ahhhh, those were the days.
If you are after an ultra small portable unit that focuses on game play rather than flashy graphics or want to relive the Amiga days, this is for you. -
