Nintendo GameCube (Indigo) (discontinued)

Nintendo GameCube (Indigo)

Entered CNET Catalog: 02/07/2002

SKU: 045496940010

Manufacturer: Nintendo of America

Manufacturer description

The Nintendo GameCube focuses on gameplay and is "the ultimate TV game machine and the first of its kind." Nintendo GameCube was created with the purpose of realizing the highest level of performance and to enhance the productivity of software development. Instead of going for the highest possible performance, which does not contribute to software development, Nintendo decided to create a developer-friendly next generation TV game machine that maintained above-standard capabilities. In order to accomplish this, designers have painstakingly removed the "bottlenecks", which hinder an efficient system. They have introduced 1T-RAM technology, which has a minimum of delays, into the main memory and the Graphics LSI Mixed Memory. Also, secondary cache memory with a large capacity was implemented in the MPU. With this combination Nintendo has succeeded at creating reliable functionality that can be used with actual games. Nintendo has been creating a world in which the player can enjoy the feeling of actually touching the "world" created by the software. In addition, the player can benefit by building a bond with the game and characters in it. The Nintendo GameCube carries on the "DNA" of Nintendo games and gives birth to a new kind of entertainment that surpasses existing concepts of what great gaming is.

A real winner behind closed doors

Pros: great grapics, nintendo so you can trust the hard ware, plenty of great games not to many real mainstream games,

Cons: barely any online suport just 3 games

Review: this is a real pack of a punch system from nintendo, if there were no xbox that is. The real problem is not to many people were intrested for the fact they all thought of nintendo as a "kiddie" company! This console in fact had the first M rated game from nintendo. This is also a far more suppririor to the ps2 byt every means, no lag, real small cds is no problem with me and is just a rael good console

The ultimate game machine of all time.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: When the gamecube was coming out i had expected because of the big price difference with the xbox and the playstation 2 that that gamecube would really stink. BOY WAS I WRONG. I went to future shop cause i was thinking of buying an xbox and tryed it out. It was pretty spectacular. And i thought for the fun of it i would try the gamecube. LET ME TELL U. I instantly changed my mind. I right away went to the counter with a gamecube and James Bond The World is NOt enough and Superdmash Brothers mailee and resident evil. And bought the whole lot. I am now a big fan of nintendo. So If your having trouble with deciding wich system to buy. Let my review decide for u IT IS TRUE!!! P.S. PLaystation 2 doesn't even compete

Very Sweet

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I think this is a very sweet system. It definitely tops PS2 in hardware, but not in choices of games. More 3rd party publishers look more toward PS2. Then it's got a better selection of games than XBOX. I admit I like some of the games, but some others are really corney and don't plain like em. Hardware is really good on XBOX, but nothin more than GCN to be thrilled about to make you want to buy it some more. Overall if you want all around fun and all around features go with gamecube(Or go with all 3 if you can afford them. lol).

The Best out there!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: The Nintendo GameCube is the best console out in the Console market. Although it doesn't feature a DVD player and CD player, the ones included with the PS2 and X-Box aren't that good anyway. The Cube offers Great gaming fun and superb multiplayer games. Don't bother with the others, get the GameCube, because Games are what its all about!

It looks good my friend

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I think the gamecube looks very good and could cream any other system, but it also needs the DVD player. Without it teenagers tend to go for the other systems like XBOX and PS2. Nintendo must make more mature games and try to stop advertising games like Luigi's Mansion, and fricken Pikmin. Start advertising games like Die hard Vendetta, Duke Nukem forever, Tony Hawks proskater 3, Resident evil series, Fifa and etc. Then more people will buy the product. Also they should try and make the most games. Like PST already has about 200. Gamecube has to beat that by the end of the year at least. The price is good and the system is awesome but the gamedisks should fit the normal cd. After all we can burn them if they are.

Best Games, inexpensive, fun!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: If you are looking for a game console, look no further than the Gamecube. With a 199 price tag and games like Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Resident Evil, and Donkey Kong exclusive to Gamecube, how can you go wrong? Also, the addition of Final Fantasy to GC makes the console look even better. Dont buy the other consoles for a dvd player... if you really want one buy a separate dvd player. The quality would be better than the built in players on PS2 and Xbox. And odds are that you already have a cd player. Online gaming will come to the Cube in 2002.
