Pros 99 bucks, original games
Cons WiFi a little wonky, some games really bad
Summary If you cannot remember when arcade games were just 25 cents you will not likely get much from the Ouya. I find many of the games remind me of those days in the arcade hoping from machine to machine. The games a quick entertaining but not very deep. The hardware works but needed a little TLC. I find the controller works well and have not had any problems with sticking buttons or lag. It won't replace my 360 but I am having a lot of fun with it.
Pros New games added daily. Free to try. Plays retro games like N64. Game prices are relatively cheap to purchase. Playing games on TV with a dedicated controller is nice. Up to four players can play if the game supports it and it is fun to play!
Cons Additional Ouya controller are expensive. All games need to be downloaded first so make sure you have a good internet connection. There is limited, if any uniformity with the ouya as compared to an xbox360 experience.
Summary The Ouya is lots of fun to play. Plenty of games albeit indie games. Retro games can be loaded (PS1, N64,...) and that is nice. The console is always being updated and new features introduced. New games added daily so it never gets stale. If you are looking to move beyond the typical console experience and want to try something that *might* become big than the $100 spent on an Ouya is well worth it.
I'm happy I bought it and my kids are too!
Pros No restrictions, easy to setup, easy pairing with PS3 controller, Emulators!
Cons Seems half-baked, controller included is junk, system seems to have a delay in controller responsiveness (regardless of which controller you use).
Summary This device has great potential and I see what OUYA is trying to accomplish. I think as programmers start to roll out more programs and improve existing programs, then the product overall will improve. I do feel that the worst part of the console is the controller, which is easily overcome with a PS3 (or other bluetooth) controller. I do wish that I could have the Google Play store loaded so I could play games I have already purchased, but I am sure someone will figure that out soon.
