  • "Great console, bad selection of games upon release."

Pros: Good thing about my PS3 is that the internet is free, I can download games, as well as a huge selection of movies, not a lot yet for blue-ray HD downloads as of yet, Will have to wait and see what happens.

Cons: Waited about 3 years after release to finally get the console, after seeing a few games for it that I was interested in, however, still not pleased with the game releases and selection as of yet. Every game released can also be played on the X360.

Summary: Sony hasDmany opportunities to win the buyer back, especially when they released PS3 at a time when the economy was slowly going down -hill and people tightened their budget, people simply can't afford 399 dollar console vs 199 dollar console. Good thing about the PS3 is everything is included in the box, the bad thing is Sony took out the PS2 compatibility forcing fans to go back and buy a PS2 console to play their favorite games. Not a good move at all, especially when PS2 had a huge selection of good games that kept fans appeased. Regardless if this move was suppose to save them money, it still is not worth having multiple consoles sitting infront of the TV, and clicking through video modes to get to the other. I had bought their last PS3 60 GB backwards model at Best Buy luckily. Bought it in time to, feel sorry for the new buyers.

Even though I am a disgruntled Sega fan, and sad about how Dreamcast went downhill, I don't want Sony to follow the same way. This is exactly what happened with Sega CD. It was simply too hard to code for, and programmers simply were eyeing the ease of Sony Playstation One, and Nintendo's Consoles. Coders are just not ready for the new technology yet, I am just crossing my fingers to see a change in all this, but as of now, when I walk in many video game stores, all I see is large quantity of Xbox 360 games, compared to the tiny area of PS3 games. I would count the PS2 games towards the selection but Sony decided to stop making support for the PS2 with newer models of their PS3. Maybe in the future it will come back, but as of right now, its going to be a while. Smart move sony did?, some people say yes, and most say no. Bottom-line, if I can still play my Sonic Hedgehog, I'm happy regardless of the change.
