|Bottom line|| |
The latest PS3 slims down to its smallest size ever while retaining everything we like -- and a few things we don't -- about the PlayStation 3 gaming console.
The Xbox One goes beyond gaming with its ambitious live TV integration, but at launch it can't deliver a knockout blow to the PS4 due to a higher price and uneven voice control. We suggest you wait for improvements, but for now, the Xbox One is better suited to forgiving early adopters.
The Xbox 360 remains a great video and gaming console, but fans will be better served by older 360 bundles -- or waiting for the Xbox One.
In the face of stiff competition from smart phone and tablet gaming, we were hoping for something more audacious from Sony's Vita revamp. The Vita Slim is still a powerful, portable games machine however -- just watch out for those pricey, proprietary memory cards. Owners of the original shouldn't worry about upgrading, but if there are Vita-specific titles you've been hankering to play for a while now, this is a good time to get involved.
