"The PSP 3000 is one of the better Mobile game systems."3.5 starson by tlambert117
Pros: So, the PSP comes with a few great options, and these all work quite well for the user. 1. It has a great LCD screen that does not get any glare from my use of it. It plays games very well, with the best graphics in the world of mobile game systems.
Cons: Although it comes with a better LCD screen, it does get finger prints easily and without a long wait. It also has very long load times that are a big pain. Hands will cramp during gameplay.
Summary: So, the PSP3000 is the better PSP on the market today, and easily outdoes the DS. It plays movies with ease and never stops at random. Games look great considering the size of the system. That said, the games take a long time to load, in fact, to long for me. Playing the game "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed", I finished the game within about 4 hours. However, after adding the load time, it was about 6 hours. Some games load longer than others, and the Memory stick that comes with the system is a little to small, thus you must go out and buy a bigger one.
The XMB is a great way to organize the system's layout. It is easy to move around and find what you need the first time you pick one up. The controls are quite basic, however if you play the PS2 and PS3 all day long, you will have issues with it. A second Joystick would be welcomed.
Graphics wise, this thing looks great considering the overall size, although once again, the load times are a pain. With the games, it pauses every now and then, causing one to lose focus at the worst moments. This is the fault of the UMD. It does make quite a sound, and you will hear it working... a lot.
Music wise, it does good. If you like load music, this is not for you however, unless you have headphones that can turn up the volume even more. The speakers, overall, stink. But consider the size. They can go load enough for one to hear everything you need to hear, although bad sound effects can get in the way.
The WiFi is good, and I often get a 100% signal from a good 20 feet away. The web browser is no good. It takes forever to load, and cannot load the most basic video (Not even the flash ads in the page). Skype is a very nice addon, and with the built in mic, I can see where this thing will be going, online and off. I have run a few tests, and the mic works wonderfully. The PSN on the PSP is okay, although download times are a pain as well. The list of game is quite short, and does not provide much to do. A few demos are on, and allow one to test the games before buying, I recommend you do this before you buy a game. And, the fact that the PSN is free, one can hardly complain.
Overall, this is a great movie player, gaming system and works with your network, although a little rough around the edges. Should you buy this for its current price? Maybe. It all depends on what you want it for. Should you buy it for any reason, yes.
