The good: Subtle, mod design; quiet cooling; nice ergonomic tilt.
The bad: Rubber stoppers can pull out easily.
The bottom line: The Targus Lap Chill Mat is among the least-ugly laptop fan stands we've seen, helping it rise above the generic-looking competition.
Laptop stands tend to either be height-adjustable plastic-and-metal folding contraptions, or fixed-height wedges with built-in fans. Both have their uses, but a USB-powered fan (or two) can help cut down on laptop heat, as well as provide a more ergonomic work surface. The $39 Targus Lap Chill Mat is an excellent example of the latter, providing twin fans, a reasonable angle, and a subtle soft-touch design.

Measuring 12 inches by 15 inches, it's big enough that an 18-inch laptop can sit comfortably on it (although a system this big does spill over the edges by an inch or so on each side). The front edge sits 0.75 inch above your desk, gradually raising to 2.2 inches in the rear, making for a comfortable, if not adjustable, angle for typing.

"works well, quiet, light weight, looks professional." By ragdoll4bass
Pros: QUIET. LIGHT WEIGHT. LOOKS LIKE A PRO. 2 FANS + an open wedge for max air flow. Feels good on bare legs. No worries about clothing blocking the fan!! I bought mine at Staples and with tax was about $26.00 which is worth the deal.
Cons: I haven't been using it for even 15 mins and my keyboard feels hot on my palms. My internal fan on this toshiba is on the top left and though it looks as though the fan is hitting it, must not be spinning fast enough.
Summary: Good. If its for a laptop that just needs to stay off your lap, and cool for its own "health" then this is a good choice if you buy it under $30. still in search of a laptop fan that will really keep my computer cool. best thing so far ... Expand full review

Pros: Flat comfortable bottom. Air intakes are at the sides making it impossible to block. Quiet while running
Cons: Fans are not replaceable.
Summary: Its the only cooler i have found that doesn't suffer from a fatal design flaw, if you use your laptop like a laptop you will block the fan intakes if they are bottom feed. This one feeds from the sides, its impossible to block.
