Pros: Quiet. Two fans. Comfortable on my lap. Definitely cools my 17" Macbook Pro like a champ. 1-year limited warranty
Cons: None that I have noticed so far. If it stops working within a year I can probably return it to the manufacturer.
Summary: Great price. Does what it says. can be used on a table or in your lap. This is one of the best laptop coolers I have owned.

Pros: Functions exactly as advertised. Quiet and effective.
Cons: 1/2" wider to accommodate my 17" laptop.
Summary: Last week I took my 17" macbook Pro into Apple because of overheating. No way is a laptop supposed to get as hot as this. Apple techs stated that it was normal, and my laptop checked out to be fine. I ordered the Chill Mat the next day. For last three days the chill mat has worked as advertised. Entire laptop is cool to touch, the fans are silent, and I don't miss using one of my three USB ports. Other than keeping the large laptop centered, I think this is the perfect product.

Pros: None that I can think of. Can't even say its cheap.
Cons: Quit working after a few days. Cheap cable and switch seems to be the problem. I have two and neither worked more than a few days.
Summary: Find something else!

Pros: Packaging looks nice
Cons: - Feels like you bought it at a dollar store
- Fans don't put out enough air
- Rubber grips are hard rubber, doesn't grib the aluminum on the macbook at all
- Not wide enough for a 17 inch macbook, but the package claims it isSummary: This thing is crap...for the price. The awesome thing is that Targus knows it's garbage. If you try and get support for the product they just tell you to take it back to the store. So their business plan is to hope that enough people are just too lazy to do that.
This thing will break on you, it's too fat, cable and connectors will break off.
Oh now on to the heat issues.
Package claims it cools right where a macbook needs it...well it doesn't, the worst part is the top left, but both fans gently brush the center of the macbook with barely enough air to do anything.
This thing is crap, customer service is worse. -

Pros: Cooled my Mac well.
Cons: Broke! Went through 2 within 45 days. Poor design of cable plug connection to mat.
Summary: I was given the mat as a gift ad was thrilled with how cool it kept my Mac. However, within 30 days the plug that connects into the mat loosened until it no longer made contact. The USB plug on the other end of the cable was fine. But the plug the goes into the mat was defective. I returned the mat for a second one because I liked how well it cooled my computer. In just over the 30 day return time the second mat had the same problem. The plug loosened up and would not make contact unless I duct taped it to the mat. It's a shame that they haven't corrected the poor design of the connection. I went to purchase another one today and went with a different company because I wanted one with a permanent connection to the unit, not something that could loosen in a short time.
