"luv my mid life toy"
on by steveny2Pros fun fun fun
Cons none as yet
Summary My wife and I love Hondas. I have a 2004 Element EX, she has a 2007 CRV and I just bought this bad boy for a toy. My Element had just turned over 100K miles and I'm not ready to part with it yet so I got this to share the driving load and have some fun too.
After a couple of days it occured to me this is now pretty much a replacement for the Prelude. With 197 HP, 6 sp MT, beefed up suspension, traction control and vehicle stability control its pretty much everthing the Prelude was but with a slightly more functional back seat and bigger trunk. I had looked at used sports cars at Carmax, was looking at the Eclipse ($2K below invoice, schweet) and this. I decided on new and Honda's reliability. I understand most dealers are getting sticker or more. Good for them, I got mine for $700 over invoice and that was only because they had one on the lot. A local dealer was going to find me one for $500 over invoice but it would most likely taken a while.
I got the Habanero Red (the chili pepper) and I must say, if I want to I set you back pretty far in the seat in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. Of course I'm going pretty EZ on it now since I'm still under 1K miles but it sure is fun to drive. The nav and satellite radio are great too although I haven't taken the time to fully learn how to use the nav. The 7 speaker 350 watt sound system is awesome.
So if you're in the market for a pocket rocket and want to stay below $25K then grab one of these if you can find it - just don't leave it and plan to come back later - it most likely won't be there. -
