"A great SMALL auto!"
Pros: Small on the outside, large on the inside!
Cons: Not the best ride!
Summary: The Honda Fit (Sorry, but here in the UK, it's the Jazz!) is known for it's room. The seating and controls are great! The ride is a bit firm (yet sporty) and for all you over there, the power might be a bit low. For a small car culture, such as the UK, it's one of the best. It might seem over there to be too compact, but give it a try. What have you got to lose?

Yeah, agree with you that all Americans must now realize this planet ain't their play toy anymore. Cut the pollution, raise your MPG(maybe to infinity), or suffer...of course, the poor & the innocent will suffer first.

My Criteria:
1.Small Car / Good Gas Mileage (33/38)
2.Good storage capacity (excellent. configurable seats)
3.Four Doors (have kid, will travel...)
4.Reasonable looks & comfort (Fit is quite nice inside and out)
5.The Ride (the Fit is surprisingly agile.It does suffer a bit on hills but with the tectronic paddle shifters, no biggy.Besides, I expect that from a gas sipper and it's a reasonable tradeoff)
6.Price (the Fit is pretty inexpensive)
I also dig the MP3 player capability, power windows, configurable seats, etc. All and all a really nice car.
