Pros list on maserati's sight (for the Granturismo S at least) is bluetooth. So don't let that deter you
Cons ? is there really anything?
Pros Looks, custom leather
Cons slow to drive compared to half priced M3, S4, S5: Not as stylish at the back end
Summary Maserati needs to increase the horses to atleast 500 to compete with the other similarly priced beautiful Audi R8 or much cheaper Jaguar XKR.
I don't agree with CNET review saying "The only other car we've seen that looks this good is the Audi S5" as Audi R8, Jaguar XKR look as good or even better than this car and they perform better too!
Pros - Amazing Styling, Interior and Exterior; Donesn't have a Bad Angle to it
- Excellent Ferrari Engine
- Amazing Sound, Not Barbaric but Very Tamed and Elegant
- Top Speed: 177 MPH
- 0-60: 5.1 s but some report a time of 4.9 s
- Minimal Servicing
Cons - Horrible Navigation even though Screen is High-Res
- Slow Copying of Music
- Seems as if a New Button was added for Every New Function; Cluttered with Buttons
- Rear 3/4 Visibility is Limited
- Very Very Big even though it's Very Easy to Drive
Summary I have had the pleasure to drive the GranTurismo for some time now and I must say, it is an excellent car. The style is unbelievable and it has to be the sexiest, most desirable car on the market today. The engine is good but sometimes lacks torque when you're going up hills, especially during sudden acceleration. If you mind that, you can get the GranTurismo S. The navigation is alright but it comes out of a Citroen for some odd reason. I like the 3D display but it?s hard to follow at times because the roads aren?t labeled properly and sometimes, they aren?t labeled at all. It?s better than the BOSE one you get from in Ferraris and the Maserati Quattroporte. The cabin is very quiet and the suspension makes you feel like you?re riding on air, it is that good. The visibility is limited from some angles but if you set your right mirror correctly, then it shouldn?t be a problem. It?s quite high off the ground so you avoid speed bumps but you have to be careful and go slow to not scratch the underbelly. It?s fast and you hardly feel the speed. Believe me when I say that it feels as if you?re going at 25 mph when you?re doing 100 mph. There?s no sense of speed. That just tells you where the limits of this car are. 177 mph is a respectable top speed and is on the fringes of supercar territory. The interior has the best leather on this planet and everything is just so well put together that it dispels any rumors of shady Italian craftsmanship. The exterior is painted at the Ferrari factory and gets their super-advanced antirust treatment. It also gets a nice coat of ceramic glaze to protect it against scratches made by your keys or other objects that might graze the body. The best part is that wherever you park it, it draws a crowd. I live in New York City and believe me, it gets attention. Everyone?s taking a look in it and you can genuinely see a simile on their faces. A typical reaction from a Ferrari or a Lamborghini would be different. Maserati is more understated and not many people consider you a showoff if you drive one; though on looks alone, that might be the care. It?s the only untarnished supercar brand left. I have nothing but praise to say for this car. I?ve driven it for a while now and there hasn?t been a single hiccup or anything. The ZF 6 speed automatic is great and so smooth, and, as Brain Cooley said ?it is the best automatic transmission in the world.? The servicing cost for a car like this would put many people off but you only need to pay 600 dollars a year for it to be serviced. It goes into the workshop ever 12,000 miles for oil changes and filter cleaning but things like the spark plug get changed at 72,000 miles. That?s just ridiculous and gives you a sense of just how well made this car really is. If you want a car that you can drive everyday, that had a great engine sound, and one you don?t have to have any compromises with like other exotic cars, then this is your car. The resale values are also good and considering that it is made with such care and quality, they should get better and better. This car is going to be a classic, and I urge you, if you have the money, to buy one. This is the car that is going to put Maserati all across the world, it is that good. They spent so many years making this, so it better deliver. I should stop now or I risk going on, and boring you, for ages. But, it is, truly, a magnificent car and a sublime way to cover distances.Just to say, I got the 2009 model and it does have Bluetooth and an iPod Connector. 2008 model owners can go to their dealers and get them as well for a price, I'm sure.
