"Everything you ever wanted in a small car" on by acerhound

Pros: acceleration, shifter, sound system, highway comfort, economy, small footprint, ABS brakes, vehicle stablization, dealer didn't try to ram lots of extras into the deal

Cons: front legroom, cup holders, blind spot

Summary: A great small car with a good balance of features for comfort, economy, acceleration and handling. One of the best shifters (manual) that I've ever driven. Stereo sounds beautiful. Nimble ride and good road personality. Unlike Honda, Scion dealer found me a car with just the features I wanted (no more), and quickly struck the right deal. If Scion's reputation for reliability holds true for my vehicle, I'll be very happy.

"For the money, it is tough to beat." on by willrb2

    Pros: Quick acceleration.
    Fun to drive.
Standard base model is well-equipped. Newer Pioneer deck for the 2010 model is a step-up.

Cons: Standard hubcaps and gear shift knob are plain.
Dealer offered customizations can be pricey.

Summary: I just purchased the 2010 model- the tech improvement being a better standard Pioneer deck that has a larger screen with 3 lines of text to display your iPod/mp3 music. The iPod navigation of the stereo is very similar to the iPod itself.
The car is affordable, well-equipped for the price, practical, and is a lot of fun to drive. With a manual transmission, the car has zip around fun, like a go-kart, but with a more solid feel of a car. It is quite a bit faster than the Yaris (not saying much) and also quicker than the Honda Fit. If you are looking for a hatch back, definitely check this out.

"Echo, Echo, Echo o o o o..." on by beemrdon

    Pros: revamped echo

    Cons: high priced revamped echo

Summary: If they can't sell em as Echos, they will put new sheetmetal on and try again while jacking up the price by a wopping 33%. Is there anybody out there?
I love what you do for me Toyota!
BTW, the echo was a good little around town grocerygetter but not something I'd want to mix it up on the highway with - ie. a little metal coffin in the event of a run-in with a semi or big suv.
