"review mistake"
Pros: cheaper than an Audi
Cons: not an Audi
Summary: This isn't a review. Rather, it's a correction of a mistake in the CNET review. The CNET reviewer says that this car is about $10,000 cheaper than the Audi TT.
That may be true, but unfortunately it's not an appropriate comparison. A more apt comparison would be the V6 AWD Audi A3. That car has the same engine and transmission as the R32; its only major difference (besides being Audi rather than VW) is that it has five doors, compared to the R32's three.
The AWD Audi A3 costs only ~$2,000 more than the R32. At that price differential, I'd definitely get the Audi. Besides all the luxury and quality touches in the Audi, the Audi's extra doors make it even more practical.

The DSG transmission is the tech story here, not the ipod hookup. I drive a A3 quattro with the dsg daily here in Vail, CO. WE have had a very severe weather winter season. This car is amazing - I drive at speeds in the snow and ice that would bring tears to your Californian eyes. When another car spins I can down shift three gears faster the Schumacher. When it gets tough I go full manual to control my speed and seldom use the breaks, whcih cause most spins. Next time get up to Tahoe and drive it in severe conditions. Plus the 4-motion system is a technological masterpiece! A few weeks ago the car began to break into a side at around 80 mph, noises came from all four corners and effortlessly I was straight running and on my way to work, lesser cars would have been in the ditch or upside down, so please as beauty tech is more than skin deep!!!!!!!
