  • "Good space and mileage, some corners cut"
    on by jefferynewman

Pros There is a lot of room with unique folding seats. The mileage is good as well; especially with the MPG gauge.

Cons Some basic items were missing. No cover for rear storage space. No cruise control. The Honda dealer tells me about Honda's horrible paint quality and terrible rust proofing (in their efforts to sell clear coat and undercoatings).

    Summary A very practical car.

  • "frugal, utility, quality, fun and value."
    on by tlyak

Pros It's a Honda, interior ergnomics, fun to drive, build quality, interior 'diversity' and the available audio options.

Cons road noise and lack of some audi options.

Summary I will comment on the CNET reviewer here : I understand that this is more of a tech site, but what about the utility of the vehicle and the ingenuity of the designers concerning the seating options?

  • "Star commuter."
    on by NM_Bill

Pros Honda with refinement, solid fit & finish with precise steering feel. Rather gutless, but drive it hard & be pleased with consistent 37 MPG. Cuter style to me rather than the extreme boxiness.

Cons Low seat inconvenience & the slight cramped leg room sometimes brings out my sciatica.

Summary Several years of Honda transportation in a sort of cute wrapper, with famous precise feel, solid reliability that tops off with best around premium trade in value after several years.

Put, say 8 years on this, then it simply moves of to 2nd & 3rd generation commuters use. That is Honda value.

Don't forget, this has prodigious space & is its own thing, not needing to be compared to either the cheapest (with relatively crappy for resale value) nor to hybrid or diesel or methane digester.

  • "Affordable, fuel efficient, reliable, and fun to drive"
    on by rastafria

    Pros Affordable.
    Fuel efficient.
    Reliable.
    Fun to drive.
    Room.
    Visibility.

Cons Fuel efficiency could be better.
Car could be smaller still without too much compromise.

It's funny. This car would be seen as large and not too efficient in Europe. Why do American's get shafted with their choices? (or public transport...)

Summary Affordable. Price is going up now that it is becoming very popular, but still a good price.
Fuel efficient. Don't trust the EPA stats. Many people regularly average ~36-40mpg.
    Reliable.
Fun to drive. Short, reasonably peppy, good handling.
Room. I'm 6'1" and this thing feels quite roomy. Inches above my head. Room for a multiple shopping trips / items. Love the room under the back seats.
Visibility. Large windshield and windows, minimal blockage.

Show me another car with all these pros. There simply isn't one. Any car I've heard compared with this one suffers greatly in one or multiple factors listed above.

This is a fantastic car for anyone who considers price, fuel efficiency, reliability, and fun important aspects of a vehicle. The room and visibility make it even better.

I could have had a '09 Civic LX AT with a few options for LESS than the '09 Fit Sport MT I went for, and I got mine for roughly the invoice price... Still feels like a better deal :-D To be honest, this feels more like an early 90's Civic than the new Civics do. It's just a blast to drive, and I don't get mad reading the monthly payment numbers...

  • "car of the future"
    on by cogneuro

Pros amazing interior space and comfort for small car. fun features break up the econobox boredom.

Cons interior hatch latch would be nice.

Summary What's more important: the size of your car or the future of the planet?
