Pros: Cavernous interior space. Decent gas mileage. Sport car-like handling. Modern design. High drive height.
Cons: Gas mileage not as good as reported in my experience. Somewhat of a harsh ride.
Summary: I've owned my share of Hondas (2 CRX's, 1 Civic Sedan) beginning with a 1986 Honda CRX HF that I purchased used in 1989. Until now that was my favorite Honda. I bought this 2010 Fit Sport used in April for $12k with 20k miles and absolutely LOVE it. I can't imagine a better quality, more versatile car for the money. This thing has quite a bit of pep from a stop as well but not quite as much power when driving at higher speeds.
I do mostly city driving and have never gotten above 29.5mpg. I haven't taken it on a road trip of any length yet but when we do shorter drives (under 20 miles one way) on the interstate it still never gets above 30mpg. This is just a minor complaint because even 30mpg is still good. Also, the ride is a little harsh over bumps/potholes but that is the trade off for such good handling. It has a firmer suspension like that of a German car.
Also, for those with elderly parents this car is VERY easy to get in and out of. My mother-in-law has had several strokes and isn't very mobile. She can easily get in and out of the backseat.
I highly recommend this vehicle. Professional reviews say this model is getting a little dated when compared to competitors. The only possible feature I can agree with them on is the transmission. It shifts just a tad rough in the lower gears. I recently drove a '13 KIA Soul for a weekend (rental) and it paled in comparison to the Fit in every other category but the transmission.
