"Nice inside, strong engine, unrefined AWD & suspension"
3.5 starson by shotnoisePros: Interior comfortable for my 6'4" frame. Very good though dated cabin tech. Very strong engine. Nice to see real manual transmission in type of car. shift linkage & clutch work well together. Handling is strong if somewhat crude.
Cons: "Symmetrical AWD" is market-tech for old-style 4WD. Pushed to its limits car under-steers like FWD car from which it is derived. Unrefined suspension loses control cornering on bumpy roads. Should be 6-speed transmission. Turbo-lag is terrible.
Summary: Entertaining if somewhat unrefined car. Surprising power and handling, but at the limit the car's pedestrian heritage and old-tech AWD muddies an otherwise bright picture. Interior is very comfortable and understated, but the manual transmission should be a 6-speed and the interior technology needs to be updated.

Feels like a FWD car from which it is derived? Are you smoking dope or just stupid. every Subaru engine is mounted longitudinally. That means that the engine is in the front, the transmission is mounted behind, and the drive shaft behind the transmission. A FWD derived system has a transversely mounted engine with the transmission coming out of the side. The Lancer Evo has a FWD derived AWD system.

interior technology needs to be updated? standard is ipod control, a usb input, blue tooth, controls on the leather wrap wheel.
"Symmetrical AWD" is market-tech for old-style 4WD" there's a reason why subaru has a heritiage of rally championships.
"handling is strong....unrefined suspension" which is it?
