"Awesome looks and features. No regrets about this car."
5.0 starson by jasonrgreenPros: Great looks. Unique on the street. Much better looking than the A6, in my opinion. Awesome interior. Tech features to kill for. All seamlessly integrated. Pretty decent mileage (20-24 mpg). Huge trunk. Headroom not really an issue.
Cons: Wish the MMI had a button to go straight to weather. Would like a touchscreen, though this isn't too big a deal, as the distance might be reason they don't do it. Would like bigger glove box under passenger seat. That's about all I can think of.
Summary: Don't know where to start with this car. It's really great. I also own a Q7 (my 2nd), so I'm kind of an Audi guy now, so maybe that DQ's me from being impartial, but they have great service and make great cars. I thought really hard about getting an e350 or 5 series, but after driving them, immediately ruled out the benz. Then had to consider 5 series vs. audi. Both drive great and are really sharp looking. However, I decided that I really liked the cabin tech and MMI in the Audi and also that, much like when I got my first Q7 (and even with my current Q7), I like that it is a fairly unique car. I see lots of 5 series out and about, but have only seen a few A7's on the road.
The responsiveness of the car is excellent. I'm a fairly aggressive driver and I have no complaints. Has a smooth ride, even at high spreads. Takes corners great. Nice pick-up off the line, not that I'm squealing the tires, though. Smooth braking as well. Has a great jolt to pass at will. Can't speak for true top speed. Have only gotten to 120, so far.
The interior is quite comfy. Heated seats/wheel are a god-sent. Seats are comfortable (I routinely make 2 hr each way trips for work). Plenty of head/leg room. Rear-seat headroom is not really an issue (only if you're above 6'2" (I'm 6'2" and I can sit in the backseat fine without a hat)). Trunk is huge. folded the seats down and moved a playhouse for my kids once.
The tech in this car is really the star of the show. SD cards in dash are super convenient. Bluetooth audio from the phone is easy. Sound system overall sounds great, though I don't have the B&O system (just a bit more than I would pay). Google maps is totally awesome for NAV, no doubt about it. touchpad for entry is very handy and kind of neat for navigating the map. weather/traffic/news is very useful, though it takes a second to come up. Could be a bit more responsive, but it's a nit. Interactive cruise control is also very handy. Didn't get night vision or heads up display so I can't comment on those, though I wasn't willing to pay what they wanted for those features.
In summary, if you are considering this car, just do it. You won't be sorry. Love the car, love the brand.
