Samsung SyncMaster 955 DF

Pros: Has lasted a long time.
Still in focus after all these years.

Cons: Heavy.
Slow refresh rate at top resolution.
Anti-glare coating gets wonky after a few years.

Summary: I've been using this monitor for quite awhile now. It started out great, but is now dying horribly. Over the years the anti-glare coating has either darkened or the monitor's brightness has significantly lessened as everything is much darker than it should be making videos and dark areas of games look horrible and difficult to see. It also now emits an extremely high pitched hum when in low resolutions and/ or low refresh rates. I suspect that the power transformer is wearing out, but this could probably be expected from any monitor nearing 10 years of heavy use. All in all this monitor has been a decent investment and has exceeded my expectations as far as life-span goes. I am now retiring it in favor of an LG W2361V-PF 23" LCD monitor. Let's hope this new one lasts almost as long as the old one did. :)
