Manufacturer description
Parallels Desktop for Mac is the first solution that gives Apple users the ability to run Windows, Linux or any other operating system and their critical applications at the same time as Mac OS X on any Intel-powered iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook or MacBook Pro. Unlike dual-boot solutions, in which users must completely shut down Mac OS X and endure a full OS start-up cycle to access a important application, Parallels Desktop for Mac empowers users with the ability to run important Windows programs like Outlook, Access, Internet Explorer and all other applications without having to give up the usability and functionality of their Mac OS X machine even for a few minutes.

Neat idea, executed poorly. Tech support has yet to make itself known.by jhturley - September 27, 2007
Pros: Nice for lifetime PC user, making transition to Mac.
Cons: Win XP performance so poor that it has been, since April acquistion, almost useless. Tech Support has yet to respond to repeated requests for help.
Review: I would not recommend it until the bugs have been corrected. Don't be fooled by all the hype.

Best choice for OS X and Windows side-by-side.by Nathanial Wilson - May 25, 2007
Pros: You can run Windows and some Linux systems side-by-side with OS X.
Cons: it still doesn't support Direct X, some USB devices, has some bugs.
Review: The Bottom Line: This is great, easy to use, software if you want OS X and Windows side-by-side. This is not so great if you are going to use Heavy 3D graphics. Overall this is good software, that works in a pinch, for what you need in your daily life. *I have installed the latest Beta build of Parallels some features may have changed*

Good but some bad holes!by jercurry - December 20, 2006
Pros: Runs Windows OS fairly fast
Cons: Does not support use of USB serial Adapters!
Review: Lack of support for USB serial adapter makes it useless for research projects that are still using RS-232 serial ports. Software does not cause USB serial adapters to be released by the Mac OS in order for the Windows OS to address and use them. I consider this a serious flaw for some users. Otherwise it seems to run ok but not sure about other peripheral support. They dno't talk about it much in their advertisements on the software.
