Wow, $40 for slightly refreshed Windows 95 themes, a couple of screen savers and shareware games!? SHAREWARE GAMES!! That's right. Seriously folks, save your hard earned money and stay away from this "upgrade." Some of the screensavers don't work with certain video cards. The media player voice recognition is useless. You can accidently download better components for free. There is no value here whatsoever, what a disappointment. Microsoft should be ashamed of itself for pressing this on a CD and charging for it.

The most useless part about the package is the Speaker Enhancements. I mean the sound coming out of the speakers sounds better when the SRS WOW effects and Graphics Equalizer are enabled. Then there are the games, I mean come on I paid $40 for this thing the least Microsoft could do is give me the full version of the games, but no if you want the full version you have to download it at a cost.

I think the main reason people bought WinXP Plus is because it is for WIN XP. As while Win XP has been one of the best OS, its "plus" is nothing but a pile of trash: Desk top themes are every where on net so why should we waste our cash buying one; Games are ALRIGHT, however you'll have to pay more to get the full version of those lame desktop games...So don't waste your time/$$$/Rams to install this dumb thing, even grabbing an old version of <<Red Alert>> will be more worthy.

Bought this on a whim. Turns out that the plus dll is damaged and there is no way to repair it. You can't get online help unless you are willing to pay. This is a big dudd. Worked the first time and hasn't worked since. And I loaded it from the CD onto a new computer, but I'm sure Microsoft has some excuse. Unfortunately I printed the error log which clearly states that the Plus problem is carelessness on Microsoft's part.

I bought Plus! for XP on a lark, and I'm very disappointed with it. With the exception of a couple of cool games & screensavers, this "add-on" adds nothing to XP. I remember what a viable enhancement Plus! for Windows 98 was, which probably why I bought this. Whereas Plus! for '98 included such useful items as McAfee AV software, enhancements to the Maintenance Wizard, as well as games and desktop themes, Plus! for XP includes only the latter two, which makes it an incredible waste of money.

A dear freind of mine decided to upgrade to WinXP. I, having seen all the other PLUS! packages, was very interested to see what it would add, so convinced my freind to buy it. Well, we upgraded to XP Home, and then went on to try out PLUS! XP.. installation was a ansp, no problems.. When we decided to try out a few things..like what was added?? The games were stupid, the decors weren't exactly what I had imagined (being a BeOS user, I would have liked to see a BeOS-like decor.. they already copied the program grouping on the menu bar (deskbar in BeOS)..why ot the UI? Oh well.. at least the fish are nice.. too bad I already had it

The Plus! pack is nothing more than a few enhancements that effectively turn XP into TP (Time pass).Themes, media add ons and things of this nature will end up costing you money, that too for what you could get for free on the Net. A few games(trial versions) are featured as well but they don't hold any ground against what you can download. Instead of wasting money on this, be smart and invest in upgrading that memory in your machine which XP is gonna hog.

Very disappointing indeed! I can barely tell its been installed on my new machine. The screen saver with the aquarium feature is only a little better than the real one I have in the Family room. The games are cute for entisement's sake but fall woefully short on getting me to pull out the Visa or Mastercard. Obviously some college grads were given this assignment and no direction or statement of expectations for a finished product. How did this get past the beta testing? This should go on the bargain table soon while the program is re-worked into Microsoft Bigger-Plus for Windows XP!

These days you expect to get a lot more software for $40 than you get out of this marketing gimmick from Microsoft. It's almost like you buy a car for $100 and the then buy fancy mud-flaps for $40. There's 4 decent screen-savers, a few desktop themes, 2 extra visualizations for Media Player, 3 games and that's pretty much it. You supposedly can download more stuff, but guess what - you got to sign up for a Passposrt account in order to do that! What a cheap trick to get users to sign up. Take my advise, keep your money.

It is truly arrogant that Microsoft thinks you would PAY to convert portable mp3 file format music to their proprietary non-transferrable music format. In my opinion, this product would be worth it if: (a) the games were full versions, not trial versions, (b) the screensavers weren't rehashes of previous OS screensavers, and (c) it cost $10-20 Yes, I paid the $40 for this. Yes, I even paid extra for the rest of the fish and the bowling games. Okay, I like the fish screensaver and labrynth games, and my daughter and I enjoy all the bowling games (except San Francisco 2099, which is completely impossible to play--the manufacturer must have a rogue, sadistic developer on staff). However, I think the rest of it is fairly useless, even on an artistic level, and the stuff we do like still doesn't justify the price. All in all, if you have an *extra* $40 burning a hole in your pocket and would just as soon buy this as use your two $20s to start a fire in the fireplace, then go get it. Otherwise, listen to the rest of us and don't waste your money. Microsoft, are you listening?

My favoutite feature - the fishtank screensaver is shareware and the rest is of dubious practical value. With multiple monitors activated, the screensaver doesn't start properly and hangs the system until it is forcibly closed in Task Manager.

It's true. I could get more from Cnet.com, then I could get out of Plus XP. The truth is there are only 3games, about 5-6 new themes, and two new add-ons (one for sound and one to print CD lables). Thats all! <br> No really, that's it. Plus at one time was a cool add-on that some poeple liked. It added some cool games or even programs to help keep your system working good. But in this version, Microsoft has come short. <br> Also for those of you who use on board video, your going to be out of luck. Plus will not install most of anything unless it can find a 16MB (or more) video card. So if you have just got a new computer (like I did) and it has on board video, your out of luck.

I was real excited about the launch of Windows XP, I bought the Pro edition and I will say that overall, I am impressed with it. I was REALLY disappointed with XP Plus. A few new screensavers (which I don't believe know how to use OpenGL properly), a few themes (which have been overused and still look pretty sorry), and little SHAREWARE game or two. I think they should have put in some new XP skins besides, the blue, silver, and olive. But considering that they did a lousy job of doing the skins by embedding the myriad of bmps for the skins in a dll file, that would be kinda hard to do. As for the sceensavers, I don't know about you, but 4 of the 7 that use OpenGL come out in only shades of gray, and pretty badly I might add. Of the 3 games that are included in the Plus Pack, 2 of them are shareware. In other words, you have to pay even MORE money for stuff you should have gotten in the first place. And to be honest, the games aren't all that fun (unless you're the type that likes to play Solitaire 24/7). It drives me nuts that Microsoft would sell such a lousy product just to make a few extra bucks, although I've gotten used to it by now. Sorry Microsoft, but your Plus Pack SUCKS!
