    on by Masino

    Pros fast, easy, inexpensive

Cons very inaccurate on my monitor, few adjustments

Summary I bought the Huey on recommendation from a friend and a couple of favorable mentions in articles in photography magazines. It has not worked out. After calibration and recalibration there is a greenish tint to the grays on my monitor. I have tried everything I could think of to get rid of it. The adjustments via Huey's own setup are minimal and very large. No fine tuning is possible. Calibration with my monitor's own software and the adjustments via my graphics card setup prove to be infinitely more accurate. I wrote to Pantone about the problem and 2 weeks later I still have not received an answer. Save your packing materials, just in case you have a similar experience and want to return it.

    Updated
I tried to fine tune the Huey adjustments via my graphics card and monitor software adjustments, but the Huey software overrides these adjustments and the greenish tint returns a minute after making the adjustments.

  • "This is a rip-off. Turned LCD and CRT mauve, in any light."
    on by Cats2fangs

    Pros Small design, Easy software.

Cons Doesn't do what it advertises!

Summary I tried this tool on two separate monitors, in two different rooms. Both my 22" LG LCD and my 19" Optiquest CRT turned the same shade of Mauve. I even updated the software. Obviously, the colorimeter is not calibrated. I emailed support a week ago; no reply. My own eyes, and this website did a better job: http://epaperpress.com/monitorcal/

  • "A complete disaster"
    on by chasjr7

Pros If you like the color green it's a great product.

Cons Embeds itself into your computer and is impossible to remove.

Summary When I first tried the Huey it turned eveything on my monitor a shade of green. I naturally tried to remove it from my Mac, but the software will not let go. It's causing all kinds of problems on my Mac.

I went to Pantone's help site, but it's worthless. The FAQ's are a joke and don't help with any problems. I emailed the support center a few days ago and have heard nothing from Pantone.

This product is a joke, don't buy it if you own a Mac because you'll never be able to get rid of it.

Pros Low Cost, Ease of Use, Accuracy, and Light Metering

Cons Not 100% Accurate just 99%

Summary This amazing toy allows me to print photos from the lab without paying for color correction. I bought a low price samsung monitor that looked blue-green stock and could not get the color right thru os X's calibration software. After 5 minutes I have a monitor that im confident in. I have a brand new macbook pro and the cheap samsung screen looks identical!
