"I think Cnet is retarded" on by cougenstein
Pros: Never have been a fan of compact computer, usually they were slow and not versitle. Acer oddly enough was able to make an amazing little computer. I use it with my 42 inch plasma watch TV on the unit and record shows. Able to do multiple tasks.
Cons: 350gb HDD is weak, I ended up putting a terabyte HDD in the unit, also had to put a 120mm fan on the exterior of the case to keep it cool. It comes with 6400ddr2 but can handle 8500ddr2 should have just came with the 8500ddr3 to begin with.
Summary: The computer is great no question about it I feel Cnet has horrible reviews when it comes to this computer, it isvery versitle and can handle browsing the web while playing TV it is awesome. I ended up buying the Logitech dinovo Mini Keyboard/mouse combo, so I am able to lay in my watch tv, record shows, and browse the web with no lag. Keep in mind though I work on computers every day for the largest electronic retail store. I recommend this product as long as you are wanting to hook it up to TV and begin the new era of what computers and TV's are going to which is combining of both. Also I did not pay over $330 for this unit only reason why I put forth the money to make it a truly versitle machine. Had to buy a tv tuner card $70, mouse and keyboard $125, 120mm fan $30 (it was $30 because it is extremely quiet but able to move 70 cfm at 1600rpm at 19db), a terabyte HDD $100, also 4gb 8500 ddr2 $70, and of course a copper northbridge heatsink with fan $20 because the northbridge does get hotter than I like. makes this unit a grand total of $610 but worth every penny. so if you want compact computer that can do anything you want except play some video games this unit is worth the money.
