"Power packed, Great features" on by circpro

Pros: Speed, great design with USB and headset inputs on the top, very quiet. Multitasking a
a breeze with almost no loss in performance even with memory intensive programs running. Tons of USB inputs. Connections for 7:1 stereo. Graphics card great.

Cons: Wireless network card was weak and would only connect at 24 Mbps. I switched to my Linksys USB and connected at 130 Mbps. Don't like button design to open cd drives, as they seem a little weak. I will probably use Nero to open and close.

Summary: Transferring files from a portable HD through USB was like lightning. Very expandable for internal components, except PCI. (2 of the three slots are occupied by a modem (who uses one of these anymore?) and a wireless network card. Abundance of USB inputs. Alot of computer for the money. Memory enclosed is outstanding. I had purchased a gateway SX2800 but was disappointed as it seemed to hang frequently.

Included NTI burning progam weak and would not burn MP3's to a standard cd format. Would burn them to an MP3 CD only.

"Money hole that failed within 6 months." on by Metalhaid

Pros: When it works, it's great. Good

Cons: The video card failed (at 6 mos) which I replaced; now the hard drive failed (after 14 months.) I am not a computer tech & am not looking forward to replacing the hard drive.

Summary: I am SO done with Acer products and Frye's Electronics. This machine cost $800 and I've had to sink another $200 into it to keep it running. I could have bought a Mac for that kind of cabbage. Needless to say, I will be sharing this review with the whole world.

"Best PC for casual gamers" on by MarioMan94

Pros: Quadcore CPU is really fast.

8gb of RAM is a bit overkill, but you'll never have to upgrade it.

    GT 230 is a good casual gaming GPU. (Running TF2 @ 1920x1080 and Bioshock 2 @ 1280x800 w/ 2x AF and no AA)

    10 USB ports.

    GREAT PRICE. $$$

Cons: Some Acer bloatware, but definitely less than competing brands like HP.

    No bluetooth.

Included keyboard SUCKS. Not a problem, just buy something Logitech :P

Summary: Great performance for the dollar and doesn't lack many features. I'd bundle it with a bluetooth USB and keyboard if you want to game comfortably. This PC has changed my mind on ACER as a company. I'd completely recommend them to a friend.

"Great machine, great price" on by bionicrocky

Pros: I actually find the case fairly elegant. I am a fan of the CD storage on the top, I have 3-4 disks I always need handy. I wiped it and loaded Win7 Ultimate and it loaded up with a clean event viewer. The box is very quit.

    Cons: Honestly haven't found any.

Summary: I boot to Ubuntu, BackTrack4 and Windows 7 on this machine and it is very very responsive. The HDMI on board paired it well with my HD monitor. The front USB access is great for my iPod, and it's nice to have a front headphone jack as well. GREAT deal at the $750 I paid at Frys. Quality box with a good strong proc and plenty of video and system memory. Easy to use open case.

"Definitely a good value" on by Gnwaa

Pros: Good bang for the buck. The graphics card is decent, I've been able to play Unreal Tournament 3 as well as World in Conflict at 2048x1152 resolution and relatively high settings. Good amount of processing power. Lots of memory card slots.

Cons: Makes mildly annoying beeping sound on startup. Lots of bloatware & "special offers," but nothing that can't be taken care of. Optical drive eject buttons seem rather flimsy. Easy to inadvertently press power button.

Summary: Overall a very good system that can do all the things that most people will ever ask it to do, plus a lot more, for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new desktop. It is even eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade from Acer, completing the package nicely.
