Alienware Area-51 Extreme

Pros: Good quality components.

Cons: Return to Base Warranty. Defective build, Huge case. Unintelligable customer support. Manuals missing. Cable Management System.

Summary: I've had a system from Alienware for 2 days. It arrived with different coloured lights on the side than those on the front (the lighting is something Alienware is particularly proud of). The secondary HDD was configured as a system disk, so couldn't be partitioned (even though it was empty). The OS was corrupted and wouldn't boot to Safe Mode and kept hanging every hour. The panel which allows the (only) access to the inside was defective on arrival and wouldn't open. The printed manual was missing. Technical Support good, but difficult to understand (very strongly accented english). I now have to repack it, arrange for the courier to collect, then wait for it to be repaired and returned. The initial delivery was messed up by the courier's so I'm not looking forward to that! Basically I've not had a chance to use the system at all yet, but so far I'm not impressed
